We had the good fortune of connecting with Leondra Mitchell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Leondra, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risk is something great. When taking risk it has taught me to never give up and to always push forward no matter how many times you fall. I have failed sometimes but, the key is to always find a solution to the problem that you are having. Taking risk has led me to finishing and accomplishing my Masters in Psychology.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I always had the mindset of a Busniess women. When the pandemic happened I opened my mind up even more to accomplish the Busniess mindset that I have. I started to sell clothes and sell dinners since I love to cook and dress up. I found myself trying on clothes and taking pictures showing my friends and family the style that I put together. I always received nothing but, good feedback. One day I woke up and I decide to spend $300 on clothes. I started to model my own clothes, So that people can purchase. Next, boom I sold out and I realized that clothes was my thing. The same with selling food. I even realized that I wanted my prices to be affordable after seeing everyone else prices. It’s expensive. So, nothing is over $50 at LEGOTU VINTAGE BOUTIQUE.
What I can say is that you have your down days when selling clothes and it gets hard because, the weather change, that’s new inventory and now the old inventory is just sitting. When this happens you must find new ways to sell the items that you have left.
Always have the mindset to create new ideas and always respond in a timely manner when questions are being asked from customers. Be open to accept feedback from others so that you can continue to grow. Never take anything to heart and always be open for a teaching moment.
I want the world to know that failure is not a option for me. My mind never stops thinking about new ways to make money and helping others. I will make a change somehow and it may take time but, I am taking all the right steps to accomplish it. I always said one day I am going to be on the Ellen show to discuss the change that I made and what it took to get here. This is why I plan on opening my own practice to help the youth community. I want to help the youth with making better decisions in life and guide them to success despite there situation. Just know that GOD always has a plan for everyone.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am more of a home body. I love to go out but, then I don’t. So, if it came a time when I had to take my best friend out I will go to Extreme arcade. This place has everything skating, bowling, gold carts, games, laser tag and food. I love to skate and try new food all the time. I love taking walks on the beach and traveling to Orlando to the theme parks. I will also go to Hallandale beach park to have a Picnic and ride bikes. I love to work out and go to the gym for yoga and cycling riding. I will introduce her to Zumba so that she can know all the different ways to lose weight and tone the body. Last, we will visit this sushi place called Posh that I will love to try. I heard so much about this restaurant.
Lastly, helping the homeless and donating girls and women clothes to people who needs it the most. Each dinner sale I have I end it with cooking more food to feed at least 20 homeless individuals. I always love giving back to the community and helping others who are in need. I am blessed in many ways and I always love sharing my blessings.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family who has supported me through it all. I would like to give them a shout out because, they didn’t allow me to give up. Whatever I went through, they went through it with me. I was always told I was not going to be anything in life and that pushed me into the person I am today. I believed and kept my faith through it all. I been through so many ups and downs and I thank everyone who supported me into not giving up and believing that God has a purpose for me.
