We had the good fortune of connecting with Lesley Araujo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lesley, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to create more than just a skincare business. I wanted to provide my patients with the confidence that radiant, healthy skin can bring. My thought process was simple – create a brand that you are proud of. A brand that represents who you are and what you stand for. A brand that helps my clients reveal their true selves without Instagram filters or tons of makeup.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Nursing is not for the weak. Any nurse knows that. No matter what kind of nurse you are, it has challenges and is not as glamorous as tv makes it appear to be. My nursing background actually didn’t start in medical aesthetics, it started in emergency medicine. Medical aesthetics is something I fell into and find so much joy in helping people feel their best. I’m the type of nurse that will advocate for you until I’m blue in the face, but I stand by my oath of “do no harm”. If I feel a certain procedure is not appropriate for what you want to achieve or a product will not resonate well with your skin type, I have no problem saying “no”. I think we need more practitioners like that – those who are less concerned with making a quick buck and more concerned about quality patient care.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Here in the sunshine state, there are so many beautiful places to see and things to do. Some of my favorites include relaxing on South Beach and grabbing croquetas and un cafe con leche at just about any Cuban spot in town.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I owe a lot of my success to my closest family, friends, and GOD. I would not be who I am today without them. The many times that I doubted starting a business, finding the strength to finish nursing school (and start NP school), and juggling the responsibilities of being a wife – they helped me through that.
