Hi Letícia Reis, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Growing up in Brazil, crystals have always been a part of my life in one way or another. The beauty, the uniqueness, and the spiritualness have positively guided me through me life journey thus far. When I was 8-months pregnant with my first child in the middle of the pandemic in a new country, I had an ah-hah moment on what I wanted to do. I’ve worked since I was 13 years old but with the pregnancy, pandemic, and being new to the US, I was not able to work like I used to so I had to think differently. So I held in my hand the amethyst cluster that I keep on my nightstand and listened to my soul. Then I started designing and hand-making the crystal jewelry throughout the rest of the pregnancy and thankfully have continued to grow the small business. Each piece I design and make for you all is inspired by the love that I have for my now 19-month-old daughter. This was always my intention. This art has given me the ability to share with you the beauty of natural Brazilian crystals in the form of luxury jewelry inspired by love. The Lelê Reis brand truly is jewelry for your intentions, as it was for me.


What should our readers know about your business?
Every jewelry piece from Lelê Reis is a natural crystal that is of high quality and custom shape. I love working with the art of the crystals, because no two pieces in the whole world will ever be alike. Crystals that are perfectly imperfect with all of it’s beauty and history. I make sure that these high quality crystals are complimented with high quality metal settings that are custom to each piece. I enjoy understanding what my customers are looking for because some jewelry pieces can compliment a wedding dress and others for an exotic touch to an everyday look. It’s always a joy to see that most of my customers actually wear their newly acquired pieces right away instead of bagging it! I absolutely love every aspect of the business. From designing custom pieces, interacting with customers, ordering materials, handling stock, the financials, and much more especially as a first-time mom with a new small business. The whole process is done with my love and great intentions, of which is reflected into what you end up wearing and adoring, a natural crystal jewelry piece that nobody else will ever have.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First stop is South Beach. You have to start the day with soft sands, some sun rays, and a cleanse in the fresh ocean water. Then we would head to Little Havana for some live music and delicious Cuban food. I love learning about new cultures and immersing myself in it, then showing it to others as well. To finish the night we would escape to the tops of a roof top to catch some more live music, great drinks, and the moonlight shining over the water.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to my baby girl, my husband, my family, all of you, and myself. Everything in this world is connected. I could not have got to where I am today without several pieces and positive forces being involved. Each person played a critical role in encouraging and supporting the Lelê Reis brand and I am forever thankful for that. Even with all of the outside support, I had to believe in myself that I could do this and always remember my purpose. Don’t be afraid to give yourself a Shoutout every once in a while!
