We had the good fortune of connecting with Lianne Torres and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lianne, how does your business help the community?
My business, Watch Us Thrive, is a platform for sharing stories of overcoming trauma and encourages healing by engaging in tough & taboo conversations. My work is dedicated to empowering the voiceless and let others know that you can turn your pain into power and your trauma into triumph. Despite the things I’ve gone through in life that tried to break me, I’ve been able to overcome them and now show others they can do the same.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m the Podcast Host of “Watch Us Thrive”, Speaker & Domestic Violence Survivor & Advocate.

Watch Us Thrive is a platform where I share stories of turning their pain into power. My guests & I inspire and share insights that resonate with listeners seeking personal growth. At Watch Us Thrive, we passionately support listeners in healing from their own life experiences. The podcast provides a safe space for having tough, taboo conversations and is committed to being a voice for the voiceless.

What sets me apart is my transparency and authenticity. I don’t sugarcoat sh*t for myself, so I wouldn’t do that for anyone else. I share all parts of my story, the good, the bad & the ugly. That’s how I’ve been able to build a solid community. That’s what I’m most proud of… being myself and holding on to who I am. I’m so proud of who I am today. The old Lianne is, too.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m not a big traveler. Truth be told, I’m the ultimate homebody and love the serenity and peace I feel when I’m in my own space. My bed & I have the best relationship LOL. But, I would say a great place to explore is Puerto Rico. That’s the island where my family is from and anytime I have a chance to go back to my roots, it feels like home. The food is 10/10. The people are so friendly and inviting. And it doesn’t hurt to wake up and go the beach at any point during any season. So, if you haven’t been to Puerto Rico (don’t only stay in San Juan, there is SO much more to the island than that), you won’t be disappointed!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout goes to the people in my life who have helped me on my journey to healing. Coaches, therapists, friends, family members and strangers on the internet I’ve been able to connect with after experiencing some of the darkest moments of my life. Leaning on support and finding your tribe has been immensely impactful in my own life. I knew I couldn’t heal from my past traumas on my own, so I’m grateful for every single person I’ve connected with to help me heal, grow and THRIVE.
