We had the good fortune of connecting with Libby Romano and Tamara Boxx (See Below for both names and description) and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Libby Romano and Tamara Boxx, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
We both equally feel that integrity and authenticity are at the top of our lists. We will never put out content that isn’t authentic to the interests of our readers. We have a very niche audience in our base of style-savvy moms, and we know what they love to see from us. If we try to force something different, it often doesn’t feel right, and that’s when we know we shouldn’t move forward with an idea – square peg, round hole, so-to-speak. Integrity is a must. Our reputations are on the line with every article we print. We are extremely detail-oriented – we are problem-solvers – we are creatives – and we have to wear so many hats as business-owners. But we must execute every piece of our business with integrity, in order to earn respect. We just know that if we always act within these boundaries, we’ll be able to look ourselves in the mirror and feel great about what we’re doing, no matter what happens.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
LUXYMOM® is a digital lifestyle magazine focused on giving busy moms five minutes of me-time in every day. Our content is captivating, uplifting, heartfelt, inspirational, and humorous, allowing women a break from the chaos of everyday life. From the start, we wanted to create really exciting and interesting content for a niche audience of style-savvy moms. We’re both busy moms ourselves, so we inherently understand what our readers want. We provide content that supports them in their desire to live life in an unapologetically stylish way. And each issue is full of personal conversations and heartfelt stories that aren’t typically presented this way in traditional print publications. There’s a warmness to our work. We feel like each of our readers is a true friend, and that’s how we talk with them. We get to be different, and because we’re a start-up, we’re truly doing this in a way we love. Every day, we get to be our most creative. We’re building something exciting from the ground-up, and we’re doing what we love. We get to apply the skills that we’re both good at, and we have a very yin and yang relationship. We each have very different strengths, and they’re perfectly suited for this business. The sky is the limit for LUXYMOM®. We’re innovative and creative, and we push ourselves to continue to achieve more and more with each new issue – always focused on providing value to our readers.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Our beaches are by far the number one attraction for out of town visitors. The sands are soft and pristine, and the water is glistening. Naples is also a foodie town, full of world-class restaurants and bars to dine in – beachside and otherwise. It’s also much more than a beach town, with fun attractions and activities for families with all interests – from art, to music; shopping to sports; and more. So no matter your interest, you’ll find something fun to do here. We feel blessed to call Naples our home.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We could both credit our husbands as our number one supporters. And this has made a huge difference in being able to take a lot of leaps that we may not have otherwise. As supportive spouses, they push us to do our very best, even when we may be afraid of taking a risk or putting ourselves out there in some uncomfortable way. They also have great advice that they can impart on us from their own careers. It takes a village to raise a baby, and it also takes a village to grow a business!
