We had the good fortune of connecting with Lidia Lima and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lidia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own photography business was a decision born out of passion and a desire for creative fulfillment. In 2021, during the COVID pandemic, like so many, I found myself reflecting on what truly brought me joy. At the time, I was working full-time in healthcare—a rewarding yet demanding field—but I realized I needed an outlet to express myself creatively and connect with people in a different way. Photography has always been a part of my life, and I loved how it could capture the essence of a moment and tell a story. With so many families, couples, and individuals navigating uncertainty during the pandemic, I saw photography as a way to bring light and preserve precious memories during a difficult time. Starting my business allowed me to combine my passion with a meaningful purpose.
Even though balancing a full-time job in healthcare and growing a business wasn’t easy, I was committed to building something I was truly proud of. Almost three years later, I’ve had the privilege of photographing weddings, families, and couples, and it’s been incredibly fulfilling to see my dream become a reality.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Lidia Lima Photography is all about celebrating love, family, and connection. I specialize in capturing the essence of weddings, couples, families, and children in a way that feels natural, heartfelt, and timeless. What sets me apart is my ability to create a comfortable, fun environment during sessions, allowing my clients to truly be themselves. This authenticity shines through in every photo.
I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built with my clients. Watching families grow, capturing milestones, and being trusted to document life’s most important moments is an honor I don’t take lightly. What excites me the most is knowing that my work helps preserve memories that people will cherish forever.
The journey to where I am today wasn’t easy. I started Lidia Lima Photography in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic while working full-time in healthcare. Balancing my passion for photography with a demanding job required discipline, resilience, and long hours. Another significant challenge was starting a new business during a time of economic uncertainty. Many people were hesitant to invest in things that weren’t essential, but I focused on providing value, building trust, and creating meaningful connections with my clients. Overcoming these hurdles taught me the importance of adaptability and perseverance.
I’ve learned so many lessons along the way, but the most important is to stay true to your passion and never stop growing. Every challenge taught me something new, whether it was about photography, running a business, or connecting with clients. My goal is always to deliver an experience, not just photos.
What I want the world to know about Lidia Lima Photography is that it’s rooted in love and authenticity. I believe in capturing the moments that matter—the laughter, the tears, the quiet glances. My clients’ stories are what inspire me, and I’m committed to helping them preserve those stories for generations.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is a great question!!! If my best friend were visiting South Florida for a week, I’d make sure they experienced the perfect mix of relaxation, adventure, and culture. Here’s how I’d plan it:

Day 1: Start the trip at The Mizner Park in Boca Raton. It’s a beautiful spot to walk around, enjoy boutique shopping, and grab a bite. For dinner, we’d head to Sushi Yama—their sushi is always fresh and delicious!

Day 2: A visit to the Town Center Mall is a must for anyone who loves to shop. Afterward, we’d relax with a coffee and maybe some people-watching before a laid-back evening.

Day 3: Spend the day soaking up the sun at one of South Florida’s gorgeous beaches. Whether it’s Delray, Deerfield, or Boca Raton, the beach vibes here are unmatched. Don’t forget a stunning sunset to wrap up the day!

Day 4: Explore the serene beauty of the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. It’s a peaceful escape and such a unique experience with its lush gardens and rich cultural history.

Day 5: Get adventurous with a trip to the Everglades. An airboat ride to see alligators and learn about the unique ecosystem is thrilling and unforgettable.

Day 6: Pack a picnic and spend the day at Tree Tops Park. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy nature, go for a hike, or just relax under the shade with good food and great company.

Day 7: End the trip with a mix of their favorite spots from the week. Maybe a repeat beach day, sushi dinner, or a stroll through Mizner Park to soak in all the South Florida charm one last time.
