Hi Lina, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Since I was a child, my mother and my brother always taught me to undertake, to be a business woman. Fashion and accessories have always attracted my attention, which is why I have always been inclined to start my own women’s accessories business.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a public accountant by profession and an entrepreneur by vocation. Lina Cano, is a brand founded more than 8 years ago, with a presence in the Latin American market, we design and manufacture our accessories which are made by talented women, the brand arose from the need to obtain extra income and from my passion for fashion and accessories, we want to start expanding in the united states, looking for strategic partnerships that want to start their own business or earn extra income, empowering them, training them and working hand in hand.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

If we are talking about Miami, I love taking my friends to Wynwood to a craft brewery, walking the streets of Little Havana and having a good coffee, walking along the beaches of Hollywood and ending with a good dinner at Las Olas.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The reason behind my company name.

I decided to put my mother’s last name on the brand because she is an inspiration to me. She is a hard-working and enterprising mother who has always fought for what she believes in and has achieved great things despite adversity.

His determination and dedication have taught me that success does not come easily, but rather that you have to work hard to achieve it. For this reason, he decided to honor her and make her part of my company, so that her entrepreneurial spirit is always present in everything I do.
