We had the good fortune of connecting with Linda Matthews and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Linda, how does your business help the community?
I have the gift of being a part of a child’s trajectory.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a private practice pediatric occupational therapist, based in Miami. What I know to be true is: I am able cultivate real connection with the children and families’ that I serve. I am not a clinic or a business that employs many, and creates income by turning out multiple therapies and multiple therapists.
Rather, I’m personally connected to each child and family I serve. Making continuity of care and collaboration part of the experience.
I’ve learned throughout my 27- years of practice, that emotional connection and nervous system regulation are necessary in order to impact a child’s nervous system regulation. Engaging in my own personal development and growth has been an integral part of my journey.
Building a private practice in NYC and then in Miami has been empowering. I took risks, said “no” to things that were not in alignment, and I’m so happy I stayed the course!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I was inspired as a high school graduate, as I watched my mother go back to school to become a nurse. She then worked in the ICU, and then did HIV clinical trials to help prevent HIV spread to the baby in utero.
