We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsey Boyd and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lindsey, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
RONDEL was inspired by my grandmother’s charm collection. I loved the way charms told stories about peoples lives…a jewelry journal.
My grandmother’s charms were all engraved with “love letters” from my grandfather or special dates. . For me Jewelry should be special, meaningful, timeless and passed on and that’s RONDEL.
RONDEL is about bringing people together through charms that may spark connections, celebrate milestones and share stories.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Im an entrepreneur at the core. At a young age I was always dreaming up ideas from painted hat boxes to embellished tshirts.
I come from a family of self starters/small business owners so for me branching out on my own was always in the cards.
With that said it doesn’t mean its easy!
I started my career in fashion working with top brands like Nicole Miller, Donna Karen, Brooks Brothers and most recently CHANEL. My college expertise in Textile Fiber Science from Cornell married with my professional experience led me naturally to my first company in 2002, The Laundress. After being acquired in 2019 I started to explore more of my creative side and something I’m personally connected to…Fine Jewelry.
I started RONDEL because of my love for heirlooms. I love the way Jewelry, specifically charms tell a story about ones life. My grandmother passed down her charms to me and still today we tell her story and remember so clearly her wearing the charms, the sound they made and each story behind them.
To be able to create fine jewelry that is timeless, handmade, sustainble and of quality means a lot to me.
I’m all about preserving the things we love and holding on to them for as long as possible. No fast fashion or jewelry.
From the laundry room to your boudoir 🙂
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My support and success comes from my family and friends(my community) Most notably my husband whos been by my side for both of my businesses. He is my most honest critic and noone knows me better than him.
You need people around you that you can trust(really trust) and lean on no matter what.
