We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsey Lamchick and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lindsey, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted the ability, flexibility and freedom to have my own business. I am confident that my knowledge, skills and expertise set me apart and will lead to continued success. I have had the opportunity to excel in my real estate career and take it to the next level.

Previously, I was with Douglas Elliman, where I joined the ranks of distinguished Elliman agents across the nation, earning accolades including the Gold Award and President’s Circle. I learned from some of the best in the business, and knew I was ready to start my own real estate brokerage. That process was a lot more demanding and time consuming than I imagined. One of the most difficult aspects throughout the launch process was continuing to manage all of my clients’ needs in this “hot” Miami real estate market.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

I am the founder of The Edit, a luxury real estate brokerage that just launched earlier this year. The Edit derives its name from a core philosophy of refinement and personalized service. Just as an editor carefully selects and polishes content to create a masterpiece, we take a similar approach to real estate. We personally curate everything real estate with an emphasis on quality, uniqueness, and individuality, tailoring our services to match the specific needs and preferences of each client. Our goal is to provide a curated real estate experience that is as unique and remarkable as the properties we represent.

I have been a realtor for more than 10 years. I am a real estate attorney with my own title company, experienced in handling transactional and litigation matters. I bring my legal expertise, dedication to client satisfaction and passion for relationships to The Edit, ensuring our clients receive the highest level of service.

Our team of highly skilled professionals sets us apart from others, where we merge real estate, legal and relocation expertise to bring our clients an unparalleled level of service. My goal was to form a culture of passionate agents that want to partner with me, and stay on the cutting edge of real estate. We are deeply committed to delivering exceptional results in the real estate industry, are passionate about what we do, and take pride in our ability to provide unmatched service and results. We are committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity, and look forward to continuing to serve our clients with excellence.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love Miami, and especially when my best friends come to visit me. We would start our days playing tennis or doing Pilates. We would spend the days at the beach, on a boat, or shopping.  Some of my favorite brunch/lunch spots are Bellini, La Sandwhicherie, Sadelle’s, Contessa, Zuma (on Sundays), Baia Beach Club or Zak the Baker.

We would go to dinner at some of my never ending list of favorite spots: Mila, Kiki on the River, the Surf Club Restaurant, Boia De, Mandolin, Motek, Fiola, Joe’s, Bellini, Komodo, Planta Queen, Osaka, Amal, Calle Dragones, Dirty French or try something new.

After dinner drinks at Level 6, Sugar, or go out on the beach, maybe even to LIV (depending on the friend).

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband, Ryan Lamchick, deserves all of the credit. At the time, our law firm was doing a lot of foreclosure work, and we were referring a lot of foreclosure sales to agents. Ryan encouraged me to pursue a career in real estate. It started out very part-time as I was still a practicing attorney and raising my kids, and then just took off. During COVID, he was also the one who encouraged me to start my own brokerage. Once I finally made that decision, he has been the one to step in and handle literally everything. Yet he is also the one helping me strategize all of my real estate deals. He is there helping me set up whenever I have an open house. He hangs up the “for sale signs,” and sets up the open house signs. The list goes on and on and there is no way I would have been able to start my own business without his efforts, love, support and daily encouragement.

My father-in-law, Bruce Lamchick who has been a real estate attorney for 50 years, has been a huge mentor for me since the beginning. From my very first listing, he helped me with my listing agreement, and helped me write up the first offer. He taught me mostly all I know real estate wise. Last year, I also started my own Title Company, and he was the inspiration behind that as well. He is one of my biggest referral sources, cheerleaders and fans. We work simultaneously on most of my real estate transactions, and I feel so lucky to be working together with him.

My former broker, Judith Corcos, has been there for me since day one of my real estate career. She believed in me and has been a sounding board and mentor throughout my first 10+ years as a realtor. She always knew I wanted to be a broker just like her. I wish I could have brought her with me to The Edit, as she is surely missed daily. Luckily she still loves me and remains just a phone call away. She really is the best!

My business manager Ariel Murgado has been the one to get my feet off the ground throughout the launch process of The Edit.  We started working together in November of 2022, and no matter how many times a day I call, or what day of the week it is, he is there for me. Most recently, he has been a constant source of guidance keeping me focused on the important parts of my business when there were distractions. He holds me accountable but also knows when we need to meet just to share a bottle of wine. He is a crucial part of my success and I feel so lucky to have him on my team.
