We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Haubenstock and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lisa, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I discovered there that for many people there was great difficulty starting their process of becoming organized and staying organized.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
LisaTheOrganizer,LLC. Is a Professional Organizing company that provides assistance with moving, downsizing, & decluttering. I offer home & office organzing, home concierge services and solutions for clutter. I call myself a personal Organzing coach who specializes in facilitating & coordinating a move or relocation. I offer a combination of utility & functionality to my clients and educate them on the importance of being organized and how it benefits them. By creating an organizing system and a structure, people can see how keeping things organized saves them time, money and effort. When your physical and digital space is organized, every item has a home and can be found easily and quickly. This applies to all sorts of items in all sorts of places such as your closet, kitchen, office filing cabinet or digital devices. I started Lisatheorganizer, LLC. in 2017. when my youngest child was going off to college. I was a teacher at that time and I always found myself organzing the supply closets, the lesson plans and the kitchen. Then, when my colleagues started asking me to organize their classrooms, I realized that there was a need for organization, but that many people didn’t like to do it or they just didn’t know where to start.
Starting my business wasn’t easy, and learning about all of the necessary details of what makes my business actually run so it’s successful was and IS overwhelming to me.
There are many facets and nuances that I struggle with every day. For example,
I’m just not great at the marketing or accounting, so I delegate those jobs to others so I can stick with what I do best.
My initial challenge was moving Lisatheorganizer,LLC to Florida, and then there was covid. In addition, I also had the challenge of no one knowing me or my business. I had to hit the ground running, go out, make a name for myself and share my gift and vision with the community.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are many fun place in south Florida! South Beach, Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale and the beach to name a few.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate this shootout to my girlfriend Jen who helped me recognize and implement my passion for organizing.
