Meet Lisa Raw | Event Producer, Creative Director, Author & Momager.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Raw and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lisa, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
I’m actually new to being a parent, my daughter is 6 months now and I’m completely immersed in her world. Even though she hasn’t said a word as yet, her personality is so mature, sweet and hilarious. She’s also very serious for a baby, which I find comical because she barely smiles with anyone (so I know she means business, lol). But being a parent has been my greatest treasure. Stonii has pushed me to dig deeper in all aspects and I love it. Mentally I’m much stronger and more determined than ever which makes me more present daily. But specifically, as a CEO for her to inherit all the skills, teaching I’ve attained through my experiences. Having your child with you in your work environment and still being in mom mode, can only benefit them in the future and I think that’s very important. Hopefully one day… When she’s speaking of course lol, she can remember these moments and possess these lessons when she’s exploring Entrepreneurship. That’s the most important thing now, is for her to be running the baton forward not backwards.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
LR Brand & Events was founded in 2012. Originally it was solely for promoting and marketing any parties I was hosting or creating. Eventually the brand developed more of a distinguished clientele and was known to host parties for Athletes, Musicians, Actors in the Entertainment Industry. That in return, helped me solidify myself as a key promoter from Toronto to working at LIV and Story Nightclub in Miami, while continuously expanding my business relationships. In 2017, I decided to solely focus on creative Event Planning for Brands and Artists.
Being a creator director is a passion of mine that has never left my spirit. The curiosity of creativity instead allowed me to transition from event planning to video production, which has truly benefited my clients whenever working on a project because I think having that experience sets me apart from other producers in my field. It’s a vibe, it’s a mood, it’s culture, it’s art. Above all, my imagination is pretty vast, so I like to pull from both sides whenever I’m working.
I’m excited for my business in 2023, because I’m in a great mental space. I think becoming a mom ignited something I had hidden. Although, nothing has been easy (this is 15+ years of experience) but it has given me confidence to tackle any hurdle that comes my way with grace. Again, that can only be developed with time, failures and experience. However, it has shaped me tremendously as a Creative Event Director, Video Producer and Ms. Get The Job Done.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a very simple person, my friends know this. I love food, music, sunlight, laughter and privacy. I live my life daily with those elements. So as long as those factors are involved, I’m great. However if you’re looking for a vibe, go to Dante’s HiFi.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
“It takes a village to raise a child and a child to challenge a village… Though manifesting is real, never forget the village!”
I have two mentors who have helped me redefine my way of thinking in recent years, I don’t think they even know they’re my mentors to be honest. They’re great confidants that have shared stories, resources and materials with me over the years and they both have sharpened my growth mentally and spiritually. I probably wouldn’t have tried therapy or binged “TED Talks” if it wasn’t for either or. Also, my inner circle in general are God sent. Which is why I can’t name just one person because it was a village who developed me. But if I must… Her name is Stonii.
