We had the good fortune of connecting with Liz Marie Bailey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Liz Marie, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
This is a great question, I believe from my personal experience is that our industry still lacks diversity. I was blessed to go to a school that taught me all textures of hair and I also received a scholarship for an advance cutting course right after hair school, I come from a mixed family background so I had my share of experience with my families different textures. Im shocked at the industry professionals that lack the knowledge to execute their skills on all textures of hair due to the negligence of our hair schools. If you don’t invest in advance courses you’re stuck in fear to expand your clientele due to your inexperience in all textures, Flawless Lounge LLC was created to provide a relaxing and luxury environment for our guest as well as provide the most advance tools, techniques and products to our facilitators that takes the guess work out of how to create flawless looks on all textures of hair, As it should always be, especially when most families have various textures of hair and most families like the option of going to the same stylist in their lifetime,

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
In my. career I’ve overcame many obstacles, first as I was going through hair school I realized that I was allergic to ammonia, latex gloves, & bleach! So I was highly recommended to find a new career that used less chemicals. I knew that my passion and gift for doing hair was my purpose. I was determined to find a way! I researched and discovered CHI the only non ammonia color line available in 2000. I became an educator for them and had many amazing opportunities of travel and fun but mostly learning. I became enthralled with researching healing holistic products seeing my clients hair transform throughout the years and providing the consistency of flawless services for the whole family! As I got busier I hired assistance and began teaching them my techniques and that made me pivot into my own consulting business that not only provides outstanding education but also mindset and business system set ups to work smarter and not harder, Showing others the path to shorten the journey to success whatever that may be. We customize each consultation to fit the unique needs for the needs of each business we work with. I’ve learned along the way that you never stop learning and evolving and when you invest in yourself and take action you will come to moments when you want to give up and walk away from your dreams, the only way you don’t reach them is if you give up, if you surround yourself with successful individuals you will guarantee to be on the path to success as well, I want to see Flawless Lounge evolve into a global brand of luxury suites, mobile services, consultation, & training center, This way everyone can experience a place where we treat all textures with the love and care each strand deserves!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ok so this is a tricky question because there are so many amazing places to go to in Miami. I absolutely love a great dinner out mixed with some entertainment. Depending on the vibe you’re looking for I always recommend Wynwood my top 3 favorite places there would be 1. Coyo Taco on a Monday night : the secret bar in the back is a tranquilizing vibe and the tacos are really good too! 2. Dunkanoo’s : I love the fact you can have authentic Jamaican food while dancing to the live dj spinning the hottest reggae and dancehall toons, 3. 1-800-Lucky has an Asian food hall, music, & club vibes all in one! Plus they even have a private karaoke room that you can rent out! Then I would absolutely say you have to come to South Beach if you come to Miami, South Beach is a totally different vibe than Miami’s hustle and bustle of traffic and tall skyscrapers! My top 3 favorite things to do are 1. Bentley Beach Club on South Pointe: If you enjoy being pampered then this is the vibe! You can rent beach chairs and it comes with a free water and a wait service that brings your drink and food orders right to your chair, The best way to have a beach day in my opinion. 2. Faena Spa Day: this is one of my favorite hotels in Miami and trust me I’ve seen alot of them do to me providing in house luxury styling for ppl visiting or going to events that happen all the time in Miami. This hotel is like a museum and the spa is one of the best I’ve seen, 3. Serrano Cantina upstairs from the Moxy Hotel a cute Mexican Brunch spot with lots of places to take some cool pictures for some amazing memories.
I also love the Perez Art Museum, Super Blue Museum and The Paradox Museum! If you love to shop then Bar Harbor, Brickel City Center, and Bayside are all different but nice places to shop around depending on your budget.
