Meet Lory Wallace | Mother, CEO of Pulse Beauty, Founder of Pulse Beauty Cares Incorporated, Philanthropist & Author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lory Wallace and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lory, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
My mother have depth to her that many wouldn’t understand. Oftentimes, when my siblings and I would go to her for advice, she’ll always throw something at us to make us come to a conscious decision for ourselves. I see now that her objective was to never intervene or overstep her boundaries, but yet deposit wisdom into us that would be thought provoking to align us with our greater. I say all of that to say, my favorite quote from her is, “Some people will live their whole life and will never be properly introduced to themselves”. To me it’s a reminder to never get caught up into the illusion of things that doesn’t hold any true value when it’s all said and done. This is why we have so many unhappy people living in a false sense of reality. To find true happiness (which is an inside job), requires us to deal with the good, the bad, the ugly and indifferent in the most purest form. That process to discovering you will NOT feel good at all and will require you to go through the shedding process of removing habitual practices from our daily lives that doesn’t bare fresh productive fruit. Looking back on my life, I’m grateful for every negative experience or hardship because it has mold me to become the woman who I am today. A huge part of my success comes from the inner happiness I feel by doing the work of properly being introduced to “WHO” Lory truly is.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As many already know, Pulse Beauty was birthed in the midst of an abusive relationship. I initially started wearing makeup to cover the abuse of what was going on behind closed doors. Before I knew it, makeup became an outlet for me. For years, I slept on the idea of starting my own brand. It took me many years to build the inner courage to manifest it because I was unsure of myself and how those around me would perceive me. Nonetheless, everything happens on it’s divine timing. Pulse was birth on October 10, 2018. Therefore, when people raise the question what is Pulse Beauty, my response is simple, “Pulse Beauty is a representation of me; when I decided to let go of ALL things that no longer served me is when I truly started living.” The logo and the Pulse Beauty symbolic symbol represents the rebirth of me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Miami is nickname “The Magic City” because it’s always something going on here. The diversity here is a melting pot for all sorts of culture and exquisite cuisines. I’ll be doing myself a disservice the name them all. However, hot spots to hang out is Hollywood and or Ft. Lauderdale Beach. There is nothing like a beautiful sunny South Florida day with an amazing beach front view with beach access. We can also go south to explore the Wynwood area to partake in the arts, crafts and clubs that goes on in that area. Being that my best friend does not reside here, I’ll also have to show her Coconut Grove as well.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’ll like to give a HUGE shoutout to my Queen, my mother, Sabrina for being my ROCK! I also want to thank my 3 KINGS (sons) for molding me and making me better. Thank you for never leaving my side no matter how hard things became for us. Thank you for wiping your mom tears and giving me the strength I needed to persevere. Thank you to my siblings Kia, Corey, Brian & Brandon for continuously pushing me to be all that I can be. My adopted BIG BROTHER for always depositing wisdom into me and I cannot forget my best friend Ashley for being my voice of reason.
