Meet Luba Kladienko-Ramirez | Art Dealer and Animal Rescuer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Luba Kladienko-Ramirez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Luba, what do you want your legacy to be?
I want ArtToSaveLives to be synonymous with fine art and saving animal lives. My goal is to have nationwide or even worldwide sanctuaries with museums and various artistic activities, making it a cultural destination brand, which will ultimately help the voiceless.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have always wanted to build something bigger than myself, something with a meaning, so that is how ArtToSaveLives idea was born, which combines my two passions, art and helping animals. So for 15 years now, my husband and I, have been funding our private animal rescue, mostly through the sales of JuanCarlos rLora’s art, who is my main artist that I represent. Recently, we have been blessed to open our own brick and mortar gallery space in Fort Lauderdale, right on the prestigious Las Olas Boulevard! At the gallery we like to keep it exciting for you guys, so every month we feature new exhibitions, whether it’s JuanCarlos’ solo show or immersive installation or a group show of modern masters, there’s always something fun and new happening! So come visit us whenever in Fort Lauderdale and get yourself a dose of incredible art, not to mention, art with a cause!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Fort Lauderdale has become a really neat cultural destination, so for any of the art connoisseurs out there, there’s plenty to do. Aside from ArtToSaveLives Contemporary, there’s the NSU Museum of Art just up the street, as well as many other art galleries along the Las Olas Boulevard. And for the nature lovers, there’s amazing parks and nature preserves, from Hugh Birch State Park to Anne Kolb Nature Center in Hollywood. There’s also many vegan restaurants in the area for a healthy and conscious bite to eat.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
None of my success would be possible without my amazing artist JuanCarlos rLora. It is because of him that I was able to really solidify and pursue my two passions, art and helping animals, His work is sensational and very well collected and I am certain he will become a household name very soon! It is with the proceeds from his art sales that we are able to fund our animal rescue mission, as he donates a huge percentage to the cause, as does the gallery. JuanCarlos is a conceptual abstract artist, telling stories through his art. Most of his work centers around a profound and at times thought-provoking message of preserving our beautiful and fragile planet. He has already mastered a few art concepts and is coined an originator of Flor’s Abstract Photo Reality Series, a concept which visually combines imagination with reality, realism with abstraction, or real life with art, almost wanting to have the viewer step inside the piece, looking up at an abstract painted sky. The narrative in this series tells the story of a scientist who releases an agent onto the wind that stains pollution, each different pollutant in a different color, so it remains present and obvious (in front of our eyes) therefore, finally inciting us to seek change collectively. The way it ties into JuanCarlos’ iconic Flor del Sol story is that the protagonist “Flor” experiences or rather sees the world’s pollution in colors, convincing herself to ask the creator to allow her to exist on the surface of the Sun, as a protest to humanity’s destruction. #AbstractPhotoReality is currently on view at ArtToSaveLives Contemporary’s main gallery floor in Fort Lauderdale. So you can see we are most definitely kindred spirits in terms of our common passions- art and animals/saving Earth.
