Meet Luis Pereyra | Professional Tattoo Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Luis Pereyra and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Luis, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I think one of the hardest part to start tattooing was the taboo in the society about it, I was working in a business related with graphic design but for the situation of my country (Venezuela), they have to close it. I started to ask myself if I can do what I like to do for a living. After days of thinking, I decided to do it and start following my dreams. It was hard but I never stop to believe in myself and my intuition, different people told me that I shouldn’t do tattooing because it’s not a “good job”, but now I’m grateful for those people because now I’m positive that this is the best job ever, well for me its not a job, it’s do what you like to do. I’ve been doing this for over 5 years and can’t be any more happy.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well of course it’s not easy when you start to believe in yourself and do what you love to do. Once you start, the universe conspires with your energy. In this profession you have to practice everyday and every night to understand how it works, many fails but you have to learn from it. The best lesson I’ve learned is that you have to really trust yourself even if you are making small steps but to keep moving forward. I’m a tattoo artist specialized in color and mix techniques I’ve been developed along these years

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Of course my good friend and colleague, Joshua Gomez, for always showing me that there is no limits in the art.
