Meet Luis Perez | Realtor Associate

We had the good fortune of connecting with Luis Perez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Luis, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
I’d have to say one of the most important things I’ve learned is how to manage my time more effectively in order in order to get the best results. For example, on any given day I channel more of my energy on work that’ll bring me more future business such as prospecting, Social media Posting, Door Knocking, Reading, and watching educational videos on YouTube related to my business. You don’t have to trade your time for a set amount of money. You can be paid directly for your efforts and the money that you invest into yourself. It takes money to make money! At the end of the day there are two kinds of risk that you will face in your life. The risk of losing money for trying to better your future and the risk of not taking the leap of faith and laying in your death bed wishing you did. It never hurts to try.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am Realtor here in South Florida specializing with Sellers, Buyers, Investors, Foreclosures, and more. As a Real Estate Agent my job is to facilitate and provide guidance for one of the biggest transactions most individuals will make in their lifetime and that is the purchase of a home. To be involved in such an emotional moment and make people smile after working with me is one of the best feelings in the world. In the beginning as with anything it takes a lot of hard work. I’d have to say what sets me apart from others is that I am very obsessive about the things that I do. This of course can be both a positive and a negative trait. The positive being I want to execute on things perfectly and I do not like leaving jobs finished half way, and the negative being it can sometimes be difficult to move past things that aren’t serving your best interest. I found nothing along my journey to be easy. Prior to Real Estate I had success in the stock Market where I was able to make over 6 figures but prior to that I had 2-3 years where I could only break even or take losses with a rare win here and there. In Highschool I got terrible grades and broke the rules like a mad man, where as in my University studies I graduated as one of the top students of my class and placed 3rd place in the state of Florida for the CFA Research challenge. A quote that resonates well with me is the following. I asked for strength and god gave me difficulties to make me strong, I asked for wisdom and god gave me problems to solve, I asked for prosperity and god gave me a brain and brawn to work with… you get the point. Don’t take the path of least resistance, Embrace your difficulties.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well 90% of my Friends are Athletes so if one of them came to visit after a long while, we will first probably go to a sports bar or something similar to that especially if there’s a basketball game on that night to catch up on life. The go to spot for me would have to be Flannigan’s with respects to that and I’d have to order those crazy good Ribs and wings. The next morning we wake up and its off to the keys to ride Jet-skis till we drop and can’t no more. There’s just something I find so fun about gliding on water going over 60 MPH with NO traffic. While at the keys we’ll more than likely go fishing too and see who can catch the most fish or the biggest one. After we’re done riding it’s off to another one of my favorite restaurants, cvi.che 105. I’m going to order a bowl of Arroz Mariscos which I recommend you try if you end up going to there.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The list is so long so I’ll go ahead and start from the beginning. I first would like to thank god and my family for always being supportive of my ambitions and pushing me to be better everyday as without them I would not be where I am today. I want to thank my Beautiful girlfriend Jazmine for being my number one supporter throughout this journey and her family as well for also keeping me on the right track. My friends who I’ve met along the way from my days in Highschool at Felix Varela, all the way to Florida International University, you know who you are. As far as outside mentorship goes outside my personal circle, I’ve looked up to people like Warren Buffet who’s approach to life as well as the Markets resonates well with me, Patrick Bet David who’s a serial entrepreneur you can find on YouTube who teaches you a Methodical approach to business, Tom Ferry one of the best real estate coaches in the industry, and many more. I believe firmly that You’re the average of the five people you spend the most time with so choose wisely.
