Meet Luis Rodriguez Santana | Industrial Engineer & woodwork enthusiast

We had the good fortune of connecting with Luis Rodriguez Santana and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Luis, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always loved challenges and when I decided to move to Miami I saw the opportunity to challenge myself by making true the dream of having my own business doing what I like

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a industrial Engineer I have always been fascinated for the process and the way things are done. My mom started a small furniture business when I was a kid, then, when I was 12, I used to help her until I became the CEO at the age of 23. This was my school in every sense. When I moved to Miami and decided to start this business, I knew it will be challenging but by putting together hard work, passion and quality, things will happen and that’s my recipe, to give the best we can to those who trusted us. And I would like to tell the world that every piece made in Santana & Santana Custom Woodwork is made by the hands of people that love what they do and who deliver passion through their hands.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First stop would be South beach for a relaxing day and a nice dinner in Don Sombrero. A night walk and some drinks in Wynwood.
A good Dinner in Divieto.
A day walk by Miami design district.
A relaxing day in Cape Florida Lighthouse.
Sushi night in Shokudo.
A night walk and some drinks in Bayside.
A basketball game.
A delicious pizza in Piola.
Breakfast at A la Folie Cafe.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First of all to God and my grand mom R.I.P. I have no doubt they are behind all of this. To my wife Francesa all this wasn’t possible without her, my mom and brother Ruben who have always supported me. All my clients: HAUS STORE, RSJ Development Group, LRB design, NAFA Construction,, STUDIO 818, ELEMENTAL DESIGN, Patricia Mejia, Andres Saenz, Mike Stake Studio, Allure Design Studio, Beatriz Cardona and last but not least to all my team, without you, this wouldn’t be possible. Thank you!!
