We had the good fortune of connecting with Luisa Rangel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Luisa, how do you think about risk?
Having a career as an independent is a risk in itself. You must have planning, discipline, perseverance and the most important believe in yourself. Knowing your strengths and weaknesses will result in risk minimization. Risk is usually something that we see in a negative way, but it is also the factor that drives you to grow and pursue your goals.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Since I was little I have worked in the world of entertainment, I was a model and image for many brands, then a tv host. Communication and public relations have always enchanted me. then I began to be interested in the publishing area, share stories and create from scratch everything that people could become interested, read and consume. I always had the dream of working for the Latin market in the United States, Miami was one of my goals, the big question was how do i start? Thanks to the digital world, having the information of the companies was easier. So I had been creating digital content in fashion and beauty for my social media for years, without much success, however that made me have a portfolio to show. I contacted about 100 companies, I sent them my catalog, my goal was to collaborate with some network and expose my work. Of all the requests that I sent, only one answered me, but that answer was the window for more opportunities. I have been collaborating with them for more than 3 years, and could show digital numbers for new opportunities. Today I collaborate with more than 5 media in 4 different countries, it is a challenge when you are alone but perseverance will make you see results
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Without a doubt, Miami is a city full of gastronomy, shopping, beaches and nightlife. So I would start with a relaxed day at the beach. One of my favorite areas is surfside. Another day a must-see plan is to visit Lydo and enjoy a cocktail watching the sunset. without a doubt the outlet malls are a great attraction. To eat there are all budgets, Peruvian food trucks with dishes from 8 dollars like Makan, Japanese street food in Wynwood and walk through its colorful walls.
