We had the good fortune of connecting with Lyndsey Paradis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lyndsey, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Since I was a child, I have envisioned the life I live today. Hard work, dedication, and a relentless drive to learn and grow have been essential to my success. I never settle for complacency, knowing that there is always room to improve.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Fourteen years ago, I embarked on my journey in the beauty industry by opening my first salon in Southington, Connecticut. A decade later, I expanded my vision by establishing a second location in Naples, Florida. My initial focus was on hair extensions and runway hair and makeup. This passion led to the incredible opportunity to style hair at New York Fashion Week. Over time, I refined my focus within the beauty industry, specializing in hand-tied hair extensions and blonde color transformations. I am committed to continuous education, ensuring that my clients receive the most innovative techniques and products available. In collaboration with my husband, our salon’s color specialist, we seamlessly integrate hand-tied extensions with customized blonde sessions, transforming our clients’ hair dreams into reality.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am fortunate to be able to call both Connecticut and Florida home. I travel between the two locations every month, experiencing the best that both states have to offer. The following is a possible itinerary for a weekend trip to Connecticut with my best friend:
Day 1: Start the day with a beach day at my home along the shoreline of Connecticut. Enjoy the sound and view of the ocean while catching up with my friend. Have a little snack from my favorite local shop Fromage, offering a wide selection of imported cheeses and meats. For dinner we would have king crab legs and lobster from a fresh seafood market in town. We would end the day enjoying a beach fire while watching the sunset.
Day 2: Take a day trip about 30 minutes away to Ocean House in RI and enjoy a day at the spa. On the way home we would stop for dinner in Mystic Connecticut at favorite restaurant, Via Emilia, for authentic Italian cuisine.
Day 3: Take a 90 minute drive into NYC and have brunch at your favorite spot, the Lotte New York Palace Hotel. If you’ve ever watched Gossip girl you’ll recognize this hotel. Then, continue down to SoHo to walk and shop, enjoying having nothing to do in a city where everyone else is so busy. For a snack, we would stop at my all-time favorite pizza shop, Prince St Pizza. Finally, continue up to the Upper East Side for some afternoon shopping before heading back home.
The following is a possible itinerary for a weekend trip to Naples, Florida with my best friend:
Day 1: We would start out the day at your favorite hidden beach in Port Royal. Walk and talk for miles, catching up on life and the good old days. For dinner, we would head out to my favorite steak house, the Continental.
Day 2: We would start the day with brunch at Sails while listening to smooth jazz and enjoying amazing food. After the bottomless mimosas we would spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool.
Day 3: We would take a 90 minute drive into Miami and do a spa day at the Four Seasons Hotel at the Surf Club. We would start with breakfast on the terrace, continue to the spa for a massage and facial, then slip away to my favorite shopping destination up the road, Bal Harbour Shops. We would end the day by returning to the hotel to go to their Michelin-starred restaurant, The Surf Club.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my husband and business partner Richard, and our three beautiful children, Austin, Brody, and Summer. They are the driving force behind everything we have accomplished.
