We had the good fortune of connecting with Lynn Lessell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lynn, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
I know to keep going because every time I even entertain the idea of giving up, life sends me a reminder through someone I’ve impacted. They’ll call, message, or pull me aside and share a specific way my work helped them see themselves differently, make a brave decision, or feel less alone. In those moments, I’m reminded that what I’ve created isn’t just a business or a project; it’s a lifeline for people I may not even realize I’m reaching. The gratitude in their voices makes it clear that walking away wouldn’t just be about me giving up on a dream, it would mean stepping away from the very real impact I’m here to make. That’s what keeps me moving forward, even on the days when it would be easier to stop.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Inner Power Partners is the community I founded through my company, Itz Why® LLC, and together they exist to help high-impact professionals remember who they are beyond their titles and build lives and businesses that align with that truth. What sets my work apart is that I don’t start with strategy; I start with self. Once identity is clear, strategies, boundaries, and decisions become more natural and sustainable rather than forced.

I’m most proud of the community that has formed around this. Inner Power Partners isn’t just networking; it’s a safe space where leaders can be real, talk about what’s actually going on behind the scenes, and support each other as whole humans, not just as job titles. Watching people connect, collaborate, and grow because they feel seen and heard is one of the most exciting parts of what I do. I’m most excited about watching Inner Power Partners continue to expand into new cities and deepen its impact, creating a model of community where meaningful relationships, support, and personal growth are the norm, not the exception.

Getting here definitely wasn’t easy. I’ve had seasons of doubt, financial pressure, and moments where I questioned whether anyone really understood what I was building. There were also people who told me that what I wanted to accomplish with Inner Power Partners would never work, that it was “too different,” “too deep,” or that people “don’t have time for that kind of connection.” Instead of shrinking back, I accepted the challenge and said, “Watch me.” I chose to trust what I knew people were craving beneath the surface: real connection, honest conversation, and a community where they could show up as their whole selves.

There were definitely moments along the way when I felt lost and honestly wondered if I should just stop. I questioned whether anyone really saw the heart behind what I was creating or if it even mattered. And then, almost every time I reached that breaking point, something powerful happened: someone would call, message, or approach me to say “thank you” for the work I do through Itz Why LLC and for the Inner Power Partners community I’ve created. They would share how it gave them hope, clarity, courage, or a sense of belonging at a time when they felt alone or stuck. Those seemingly small thank-yous arrived at the exact moments I needed them most, becoming proof that this work is bigger than my fears. They reenergized me to keep going and reminded me that even when I can’t see all the ripple effects, lives are being impacted in ways that really matter.

I overcame the difficult periods by doing exactly what I ask my clients to do: coming back to my own identity, grounding in my “why,” asking for support, and allowing myself to pivot instead of clinging to what wasn’t working.

Along the way, I’ve learned a few big lessons:

• You cannot build a healthy business from an unhealthy relationship with yourself.
• Community isn’t a “nice to have”; it’s essential if you want to grow without burning out.
• Clarity about who you are will save you from saying yes to things that quietly drain you.

What I want the world to know about Itz Why LLC, the Inner Power Partners community, and my story is this: you are more than your title, your past, or the roles you’ve been carrying. My work is here to help people reclaim their identity, own their story, and lead from the inside out. I didn’t build this because everything was perfect; I built it because I know what it feels like to lose yourself, and I know the freedom that comes when you finally come home to who you really are.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d shape a weeklong visit around what I love most: real conversation, nature, and good food.

Day 1 – Settle in by the ocean

Quiet beach walk at Spanish River or Red Reef Park to arrive, breathe, and start catching up.
Dinner in or near Mizner Park, likely Max’s Grill or Yard House, with plenty of time to linger and talk.

Day 2 – Nature

Morning at Daggerwing Nature Center for local wildlife, boardwalks, and deeper life conversations.
Cozy Mexican dinner at El Camino in Town Center, a relaxed local spot with good food, no rush, lots of laughter.

Day 3 – Play and light adventure

A simple, fun activity at Popstroke minigolf or bowling, with no tight schedule.
Sushi for dinner, somewhere we can actually hear each other and stay as long as we want.

Day 4 – Art, stories, and reflection

Visit Morikami Gardens to wander the gardens and museum, and talk about what resonates.
Nicer dinner out, maybe at the SeaSpray Inlet Grill on the water at the Waterstone Hotel, making the evening feel a little more special.

Day 5 – My favorite “nothing” day

Slow morning, maybe hang out by the pool or take a neighborhood walk; space for real conversation without plans.
Easy dinner at home, focused on connection more than “going out.”

Day 6 – Sunrise or sunset ritual

Choose a sunrise or sunset at the beach; I love those intentional, quiet moments by the water.
Mexican or sushi for dinner, depending on what we’re craving, and more heart-to-heart time.

Day 7 – Gentle wrap up

One last visit to their favorite beach or café from the week.
Simple final meal, at a spot that feels very “us,” with time to reflect on the week and what it meant.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to dedicate my shoutout to the people who have stood beside me and poured into my journey.

First, to my partner, who sees all of me, the vision, the vulnerability, the long days and late nights, and still chooses to support and encourage me every step of the way. His steady belief in me has been both my grounding and my courage.

Next, to my clients and the Inner Power Partners community, which I founded. They show up with such honesty, bravery, and willingness to grow, and they turn a concept into a living, breathing movement. Every story they share, every connection they build with one another, reminds me why this work matters far beyond anything I could do alone.

I also want to recognize my SCORE mentor, whose guidance, tough questions, and generosity of time have helped me shape my ideas into something sustainable and scalable. Having someone in my corner who brings both business wisdom and genuine care has made an enormous difference in how I lead and grow.

All of them, my partner, my clients, the Inner Power Partners community, and my mentor, deserve credit and recognition in my story, because their support is woven into every step of where I am today.
