We had the good fortune of connecting with Maesie Paredes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maesie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
We started our small business back in March 2020. The pandemic had just started and with our day jobs temporarily on hold, we saw an opportunity to pursue our long-held dream of creating something truly our own. Due to all the time we had off, we were able to fully commit ourselves to bringing our vision to life. Driven by our passion of bringing the beauty of art, nature, and colour into our daily lives, we aspired to help others achieve that as well. We purchased our first wallpaper printer and vowed to keep growing from there!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Absolutely! We are extremely passionate about transforming spaces into works of art through our wall decor. What sets us apart from others is our unwavering commitment to quality, creativity, and personalized customer experiences.

We are entirely made in Canada and strictly use North American made materials. All our products are made to order, by us, in our small workshop in Ontario, Canada! This allows us to maintain our production ethically, with the highest of qualities!

Did we mention that you can customize our designs? We know every space is different, so with Timberlea Interiors, you can change the colour, scale, and size of your wallpaper! We believe your space should be a reflection of you and we want to cater to your personal style!

Like any start to a business, we’ve faced numerous challenges along the way. From sourcing the finest materials to mastering the technical aspects of printing, we’ve encountered obstacles that tested our resilience.

We sought guidance from industry experts, continuously upgraded our skills, and embraced a mindset of continuous improvement. We learned that perseverance and adaptability are crucial in navigating the ever-evolving world of business.

The lessons we’ve learned have shaped our growth and changed how we viewed success. We understand the importance of listening to our customers, anticipating their needs, and providing exceptional service. We believe that attention to detail, kindness, and strong relationships are the cornerstones of our business.

What we want the world to know about our brand and story is that we are more than just a wallpaper company. We are a team of passionate individuals dedicated to bringing joy, inspiration, and beauty into people’s lives. Our brand represents a harmonious fusion of creativity, quality, and customer-centricity.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Our life battery recharges in the sun and we like to spend our time outdoors as much as possible! There’d be so much to do! There’s gorgeous rock climbing in Milton, ON. We can visit the infamous St.Jacobs Market in Waterloo, ON! Maybe there’s a show at the Budweiser Stage and we can go out for dinner downtown. Or if the weather is nice we can go up North and catch the views on the Muskoka Lakes! We like to live both the city and the country life.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without my partner, Blake. We’ve known each other for years and the friendship we have helps us bring the best of two perspectives together! We learned everything together, struggled together, and encouraged one another to keep persevering. We didn’t know what we were getting ourselves into, but we had faith and worked our butts off to get to this place.
