We had the good fortune of connecting with Maikol Rangel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maikol, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Personally, I am a man of faith and believe in God. I am convinced that my work provides indirect social support. Many people who come to get a tattoo are seeking to honor the memory of a loved one or a pet they have lost, and the process of getting a tattoo in their honor is therapeutic, helping them release emotions. They often share their stories with me, and I try to offer support, also speaking a bit about God. My clients leave happy, taking a piece of my art that helps them lovingly remember that loved one forever.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been a tattoo artist for 7 years and have spent nearly 5 years in the United States. It fills me with happiness and pride to know that, in such a short time, I’ve had the opportunity to tattoo important people like Hollywood actors, world-renowned singers, athletes, models, and more. I thank God for bringing me to this great country, which opened its doors to me. It wasn’t easy at the beginning, but with faith, perseverance, hard work, and always believing in my dreams, I’ve been able to see them come to life. When you combine all these factors, success is inevitable. So, never stop dreaming and fight for your dreams. Many laughed at me at the start of this journey, and many thought I wouldn’t make it, but here I am, 7 years later, thanks to God, seeing the fruits of my effort and dedication.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of my favorite places in Miami are perfect for enjoying the city. First, I love biking, and riding along the coast of Miami Beach is one of my favorite activities. I also really enjoy Wynwood, with its bars and excellent restaurants, ideal for grabbing a drink and soaking up the atmosphere. For family outings, Brickell is a great option; I love having a good coffee and enjoying a delicious meal there. These are three places I truly appreciate, and I always include them in the itinerary when friends come to visit the city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First of all, thanks to God, because without Him, none of this would be happening in my personal life and career as an artist. I am deeply grateful to my mother, who supported me from a young age, enrolling me in various drawing, clay, and craft courses upon seeing my talent as an artist and illustrator. She always believed in me and supported me in everything. I am also grateful to my wife, who has been a tremendous support in my career and an inspiration to keep growing more and more. I am truly thankful to God for the mother and wife He blessed me with because, without them, I don’t know if I would be on this path of art.
