We had the good fortune of connecting with Malcolm Jennings and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Malcolm, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was simple, do I want to live or just exist. As simple as that is it took me quite a bit of time to take the leap. Security is important but a lot of jobs use it to keep us as slaves to their systems. Helping others to accomplish their dreams and goals is important. I started a business with some gentleman that had goals that I believed in. It took me a while before I totally went all in. As a career bartender I had a hard time letting go of the quick cash and health insurance etc. I haven’t felt better as an adult since I made the decision to walk away.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what sets me apart from others is that I truly in my heart believe you have to be vested in the success of the people around you. If things go wrong you still have to show up and make it right if you can. Nothing worthwhile is easy. I am presently in production of a pilot I am excited about. “Wing Chun the Next Generation ” starring Anthony and Sabella Caucci. I feel like every day is a learning opportunity so everyday I feel like I’m just getting started. My motto is you practice how you play. I try to spend every moment I can learning and improving in the art of Film and Television. I don’t know &#$T. Yet I learn something new every day. I just really want to make people laugh, be inspired and think!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In my view someone new to South Florida Wynwood is a great place to start. Between the art and great restaurants it can become an all day affair. For Italian go see my people at “Cafe Martorano” I love the owners and the staff. I live in Pompano Beach so If I did not mention my favorite Restaurant ” Cafe Maxx” or my favorite bar ” Vega Lounge” I would be doing them a disservice. As you can tell in my leisure time I like to eat, drink and be social. Oh yeah Pompano Beach is on the come up. Shhhhh don’t tell anyone.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
If I had to think of anyone to thank I’d first have to start with my team. Brian Lowe, Jose Rovira, and James O’neal top the list. I came up in film school with these guys. The trust and faith we have in one another has given us the growth and experience to be where we are at today. Special shout out to the company Kid Orange Tech. We are able to produce content for children because of them. The owner Peter Smith has given us an opportunity to grow. We produce a show called “Techie Kids Club” and we produce content for an online school through Kids “R” Kids online academy. My family and friends that have supported my dreams deserve a shout out too. My brother Darrol “Shamello” Durant, a great songwriter, producer, poet and overall human being is who I always share my creative ideas with. He recently passed and I want to make him proud. We always shared our hopes and dreams and pushed each other.
