Hi Malcolm, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk taking is both exciting and nerve wrecking. I love taking risks because it will make you stronger if the outcome is great. If the outcome isn’t so great then you have the opportunity to learn and grow from mistakes. I’ve taken many risks and stepped out on faith with a lot of my decisions. Taking risks got me further in my career. I’ve always wanted to do stand-up comedy, along with the many things I do already, but wanted to build my name and brand, The Malc Show, first. The year 2021 for me is all about risk taking, which is what God told me. So this year I started my comedy career. I took the risk of going on stage. If I wouldn’t have, I would have never known the outcome which was amazing. I did great my first and second time on stage doing comedy. The comfortability came from being on stage previously with hosting events and conducting interviews with many people. Taking risks also got me to Los Angeles in 2019 to the BET Awards and Essence Fest interviewing A-list celebrities. I went on tour 2019 all from taking risks, and now have elevated to even higher from taking those same risks. Going all out for what you want will pay off in the long run.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Most people see me and wonder what is it that I actually do. I’m a jack of many trades. I am a Multi-Media Journalist, Music Artist, Comedian, Host, DJ, Barber, Videographer & Photographer, Writer, Actor, And Community Activist. It is not easy being all of these things. I hear it everyday, “you need to focus on one thing”, many would say. I think the hardest part of being a jack of all trades is that people won’t believe you until they see themselves. Sometimes it is hard to market myself because I can’t describe who I am and what I do in one word. I tend to say I do everything. The ultimate challenge is staying organized being that I do everything myself. I may host an event while also filming myself on camera, then later edit the entire show for youtube. Doing that isn’t hard to me, but it’s hard to market myself as an ‘all in one package deal”. Many people never saw someone like me before, so its hard for them to believe. When they see it happen, then it amazes them. I got this far doing a lot of everything because I don’t have to wait or depend on anyone. Theres always room for improvement so I am always learning from mistakes that I make in the field. I want the world to know that The Malc Show isn’t just my name, its also the brand. If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I was born and raised in Riviera Beach, Florida. Here is one of the best waterfronts there is. If theres someone visiting, one things most people love is the beaches here. If they are traveling in the summer or spring they can go to the rapids water park as well. My favorite food places here are Hooks & Fish, McCrays BBQ, Foster’s BBQ, Intercoastal Chicken & Seafood, Smoothie Me Please, Off Da Bone, and Tazz. Places to hang out is downtown West Palm Beach. Most places here involves scenery.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my parents and siblings for all the support. My mom has been a hustler all her life, who has taught me to hustle the way I do. She runs a non-profit organization called Parianna Precious Hands Inc. where she feeds hundreds of families each month, The organization also runs a boys and girls mentor group and does activities each week such as cooking, painting, dancing, gardening, and much more. My older brother and his wife also runs their own businesses while also running a non-profit helping young entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses. My dad has his own salon/barbershop, my older sister has her travel agency business. Everyone around me keeps me motivated and uplifted. I shoutout my entire family and friends. I wouldn’t be where I am if it wasn’t for them. We all help each other.
