We had the good fortune of connecting with Maranda Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maranda, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
No risks, No reward! I knew if I didn’t take risks I’ll be stuck in the same position. As soon as I received my real estate license I didn’t know what to do next.
I wasted lots of money on courses trying to learn how to run a successful business and fumbled a few deals but i didn’t let that stop me. Not all risks pay off but at least you make progress and know what to do differently moving forward. Finally, after bumping my head a few times
I began paying for lead generation which helped my business tremendously. I learned new systems and models to utilize in order to take my business next level. If I didn’t take risks I wouldn’t have gotten this far.

What should our readers know about your business?
Since a child I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. During my high school years I sold snacks, swimwear, fitness gear and colored hair so the concept of being self employed with multiple streams of revenue wasn’t a new idea to me. Right now I’m a 21 year old real estate agent in South Florida working alongside Allure Realty, a top notch minority brokerage. Allure isn’t like most firms, business is paramount but the sisterhood, guidance, and support we provide each other is invaluable. My Broker Sharelle Rosado took me underneath her wings as soon as I got my license and I’ve been thriving ever since. I’m proud of myself for getting this far at such a young age but this is only the beginning. I plan to venture out in other industries and conquer them too. I want to do it all, not just real estate! I’m planning the resurgence of my fitness, and swim lines, the inception my daughters business along side a few other endeavors on the horizon so stay tuned! The most important lesson I’ve learned through all this is to not give up. I want to make a name for myself, become a role model for women everywhere, and keep learning.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The perfect day with a friend would have to start with a nice late lunch at the best seafood spot in south Florida, The Juicy Crab, then catch a good comedy or horror film at a cinema. A bit later I’d like to enjoy nightlife with a section at a lounge and vibe out to some good music or hit a gentleman’s club and throw some ones. To finish off the evening I’d drive through some of south floridas most beautiful neighborhoods to embrace the architecture, while making my way towards a walk on the beach to admire the night sky, my favorite thing to do. To fully take advantage of the ambiance we’ll likely fall into a deep convo about goals and the things we’ve been praying for and manifesting. All in all, this is an ideal day with a dear friend for me.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank God for keeping my mental health on point and giving me the strength to get up and give my all on most days. My daughter is all the motivation I need. I want to create the life for her I never had growing up. My mother is a very big help she stays on top of me and is always there when i need her to watch baby girl while I work. I also want to thank Allure Realty, more so my broker a.k.a my real estate mom, Sharelle Rosado. She took me underneath her wing and I’ve been killing the real estate industry ever since.
