We had the good fortune of connecting with Marc Litt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marc, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Being able to adapt the trajectory of my goals has always been one of my strong suits….even though the objective has never changed.
I’ve always been fascinated with Media and its ability to reach the masses. In college, I was a part of the Editorial team for the Student Newspaper. I was pretty darn good at Journalism, digging deep for a scoop, following through with research, interviews, informing the readers.
However, then I discovered the Sales side of Media, where I can help the readers’ businesses grow, and utilize the attention of the masses to TRULY help the readers……plus, money.
Print Media was for me, creating, working for, and selling Print.
That was, until the cost of a page in a magazine became less valuable than the dollars to small, local businesses.
At this point, I needed to find out what was next, and best for me….
I thought to myself, Realtors help people, and when they advertised with me they always bought the biggest, most beautiful ads…..and didn’t give me too much of hard time about response/ROI etc.
So, I got my Real Estate license back in 2016.
Although I love my work as a Realtor, I have never forgotten my true passion and goal as a professional, and that’s to help as many people as I can, whilst I make money of course.
“If it doesn’t work for you, it doesn’t work”, that’s my motto as I make my Media Vision complete, and help EVERY South Floridian with their dreams of Homeownership, and community.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is my fascination. I’m always curious and learning, and I enjoy sharing that with others. If I hear an interesting story, I want to share it, but in my way. There’s always another angle or a stone left unturned. It’s challenging force-feeding people information they may, or may not, want to know, but I know I would want to see, hear, or know about these things, so I put it out there. Its been many years of any my parents and close friends liking/sharing my content, but I will continue to feed the public content, even if they’re not hungry.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First and foremost, I would take them to Everglades Holiday Park. You can go on a air boat tour that takes you face-to-face with gators, then there’s a show and you can learn about the Everglades. Love it. After that it’s a straight shot East to Fort Lauderdale Beach. If there’s still some daylight left we’ll rent some jet skis a frolic in the Atlantic. Then it’s off to Ocean Manor Resort on the Galt Ocean Mile where we’ll take a dip in the pool and enjoy some frozen cocktails at Bamboo Beach and we’ll get their Coconut Shrimp, a personal favorite. After that a costume change at the hotel, and it’s off to Downtown! Hit up Himmarshee, Las Olas (and then maybe Vixen’s Cabaret lol)
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The University Press at FAU. They showed me that Media is a business in itself. Journalism is critical to the fabric of our society, I believe that whole heartedly, however there’s also Gold in them thar hills! Not that Media is “For Sale”, but it sells, and there’s ways to sell it, and ways not to sell it etc. When I started at The UP, back in the 20th century as a student, EVERY position was either open or available for the (over)taking. As students, we came together to create a product, and it was quite enlightening. It made me realize that if a reader looks at something, it has value. I ended up selling the advertising space in The UP exclusive in 2010 and did so for over half a decade. The Advisor for the on-campus publication, Michael Koretzky, taught me a lot about how to separate content from ads, and vice versa.
