Meet Marcella Novotny: Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcella Novotny and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marcella, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Premising that “ art is communication and expression ” I grown my own idea of business around the great importance of Communication in our lives. Thanks to my studies, almost 20 years between art school and University of architecture, I wanted to create my own business around art, design and architecture, having a strong need in “communicating and expressing “ to other people.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is focused on intense images, intense , possibly shocking sometimes with the only goal to impress and catch the attention for a second!!! When this happens I consider the target accomplished!!!!!Hard working and passion is the key, it is all about having the right attitude and motivation, love and care for our work. Nothing is easy to achieve, difficulties and risks are everywhere and always showing up, again, it is all about believing that Nothing is impossible! I struggled a lot before to exhibit my art in Asia, Middle East, USA and the key to success was always the same one, love and dedication, hard working and passion for my works. In my career I certainly learned that to give up it is not an option for me and mindset plays a fundamental rule. By knowing my own limits I found the way to exceed my own expectations always looking ahead and forward looking over the horizon and borders. I think that as human beings we all are different and unique therefore each  of us has a great potential. I am very proud of every single positive result and feedback I am having, no matter the exclusivity and retribution that it brings me. What excited me more is when I realized that I was capable of touching somebody with my art. It is all about communicating!!! Even more important is that the constant and growing excitement comes by evolving myself every day..my own curiosity and artistic evolution is my everyday spark and source of energy!!! I would love all people to stop for a second and think how big is the impact of Communication and arts in our mind, how powerful it is to our brain and soul.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ok, my friends of course are art lovers and I will suggest them to come for Art Ftl in February, spend a night at Mass district/ Fat village, bicycling at hugh taylor birch state park along the river, walk early morning at beach,fried platano and a tacos at El Guanaco, ended the day with an aperitivo at Fort Lauderdale by the sea.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Very good question indeed! To be honest I must give a credit to creativeness in all different arts forms. In other words I feel grateful to all of those people, artists, writers, musicians, teachers, schoolmates and so on that I am not able to mention one in particular. On different time and different moments of my life each of them where fundamental for my career as an artist. Except made for my family and close friends, which support and suggestions help me to be how I am.
