We had the good fortune of connecting with Maria Juliana Velasco and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maria Juliana, can you share your perspective on how you feel EQ and IQ affect happiness? How does each affect success?
Many people have the wrong understanding of succes and happiness, I believe success and happiness can never be measured by money , it is measured what you are doing with what you’ve got, plus who you are becoming. In other words the person doing the most with what he’s got is truly happy. Not the one who becomes the richest or most famous, but the one who has the closest ratio of talents received to talents used.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the Founder of Velasco Tennis Training in Boca Raton, Florida. A tennis program for all ages and levels, I have about 27 years of  experience playing and about 10 years working as a tennis coach! I used to be number three in my native country Colombia, I am a former college tennis player . I believe what sets us apart from others is that we care about the player. It is not about the money but rather about the player learning about the sport of tennis and having fun! The lesson I have learned along the way is one must never give up, no matter what obstacles may come. It is of utmost importance that one always believes that, “all things are possible.” When you believe, dream and have God’s help to achieve your passion, your dream will come true.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Defiinitally God, I am where I am at becuase of God, of course I got a lot of help from people but first I give the recognition to God.
