We had the good fortune of connecting with Mariana Caceres and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mariana, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I believe you really need to love what you do and truly enjoy it—because if you want your projects to succeed, you’ll need to invest more than just 8 hours a day. My life is basically full-time work, but I’ve hacked the system: I work with people I genuinely enjoy spending time with.

My best friend and I just started our new jewelry brand, and even though we work a lot, we’re having fun doing it. And when it comes to Marilove, my foodie page, I feel so passionate about it that work doesn’t feel heavy at all. That’s the only way to be able to work 24/7 and still enjoy it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Everything started in the most unexpected way—babysitting for the former owners of Bang Energy. I told them I had studied Business Administration back in Venezuela, but that my real passion was content creation. I began recording them just for fun, and to my surprise, they saw something in me and offered me an opportunity to join their company.

At the same time, I was working part-time with influencers, handling their social media and collaborating with creative teams. That period of juggling multiple roles taught me so much and pushed me to grow quickly.

I began at Bang Energy as a Social Media Coordinator. After the original owners were removed from the company, I moved on to work with the Kiki on the River group, which manages seven restaurants. Now, I’m working with Avelina—a company with over 70 years of legacy in Venezuela and 8 years in the U.S.—and it’s been incredibly rewarding to help grow their presence here.

Most recently, I launched my own jewelry brand, and I couldn’t be more excited about this new chapter. It definitely hasn’t been easy—there have been long nights, self-doubt, and many challenges along the way—but every step has been worth it.

If there’s one thing I want the world to know about me and my story, it’s that passion and perseverance can open doors you never imagined. I’ve always followed what excites me the most, and I truly believe that’s what sets my journey apart.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Eat: Matsuri – amazing sushi, long wait but totally worth it
Drink: Koko by Bakan – obsessed with their margaritas
Visit: Beach day using ResortPass – hotel pool or beach access
Hang out: Kiki on the River – best ambiance, great food, fun crowd
Bonus:
Boat day – classic Miami experience
Shopping in Design District or Brickell
Spa afternoon at The Standard

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to my mom—she’s my biggest inspiration, my #1 cheerleader, and the person who always brings me back down to earth when I need it. She believed in me long before I ever believed in myself, and for that, I’m endlessly grateful.
