We had the good fortune of connecting with Maricarmen Bandin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maricarmen, what do you attribute your success to?
The way I handle each person I coach is custom tailored and personalized. This gives the client a sense of being not only special to me, but also understood and heard. Each person is very unique and nutrition for each individual should be treated as such. I am also a very high communicator and invite them to open up in an honest fashion where there is no judgement on my part.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Based on each individual’s goal, I custom tailor a weight loss plan where I teach people a lifestyle, not a diet. I am very structured and keep things very simple. I ask you for pictures of one week’s worth of everything you eat and drink (Discovery week) and then I begin to break things down for you in a manner that is easy enough to follow in your day to day.

We have weekly calls where I explain why I believe my suggestions will work and I lead by example.
After the discovery week, we work as follows:

WEEK 1 – Swap all pro inflammatory foods. You are completely guided through this process.
WEEK 2 – We incorporate intermittent fasting and even if you have never practiced it, I teach you.
WEEK 3 – The reduction and or elimination of processed sugar and how to fully manage it.
WEEK 4 – A full synopsis rundown & the possibility of continuing.

I have been able to successfully help people with chronic illnesses eliminate medication. Women in menopause lose weight. Children and adolescents clear up acne or eczema. 100’s of cyclist perform better. It’s amazing when people tell me they finally have a healthy relationship with food.

I started in 2017 doing 21 day vegan challenges and by 2018, I had already handed out over 100 certificates of completion to people who were under the impression that they needed to starve to lose weight.

In 2020, I incorporated intermittent fasting into my regimen and the findings with fat loss and energy surge was too incredible to keep to myself. I developed the Vegan & Fasting program which again helped another couple of hundreds to continue to improve their health and well being.

By 2022, I started to also open up to all eating lifestyles and decided not just to work with people wanting to learn how to transition to a vegan/plant based but anyone who wanted to really understand what better nutrition can do for them and that’s how Wellness with Mari was born.

I lead by example. I don’t just talk the talk, I definitely have walked the walk and continue to improve not just my health, which just so you understand, in 2010, I was diagnosed with scleroderma and was given 4-5 years to live. The diagnosis was very frightening but I have left medical doctor at Cleveland Clinic & UM Health astounded with my positive turnaround and when they question how is it that I have managed to reverse my symptoms or ride 206 miles on my road bike in ONE day, I always tell them:
NUTRITION & POSITIVITY.

I feel blessed to be someone’s blessing and I enjoy helping people look and feel amazing. I feel it is what I was put on this earth to do and I don’t want to waste any time so I can reach 1000’s nation and worldwide and I thank you for the opportunity to possibly share my story.

By 2022, I received a certified in Plant Based Nutrition by Cornell University where I understood the relar

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Night life as we would need to dance but not just one specific place, from Jazz in Gulfstream Park to salsa & merengue on Miami Beach..

We would eat at Planta Queen..
