We had the good fortune of connecting with Marisol Cruz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marisol, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
Mute & Live. That’s the affirmation my favorite author, Tarryn Fisher, shared. Since the first time I read the words on her Instagram post, they resonated with me. Mute & Live is about living an authentic life, unique to me. In today’s world, everyone has an opinion about everything we do, or don’t do. Oftentimes, we let others’ opinions and judgments affect how we perceive ourselves, and/or our individual journey. Mute & Live means – mute all the voices, the naysayers, the opinions, and live your best authentic life.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m a lawyer licensed in Florida, practicing in Business Law & Family Law, as well as serving as a Guardian Ad Litem in cases, representing the best interest of minor children. Additionally, I represent individuals in Family Law Appeals. Sometimes the Trial Court gets it wrong and the appeal process is an attempt to have the next highest court fix the problems. Getting to where I am today has taken a lot of hard work, long nights working on cases, preparing for trials and hearings, knowing that my clients depend on me. I’m thankful to have colleagues and mentors I can reach out to regularly and discuss legal issues to ensure I’m on the right track with my cases. As a solo practitioner, it’s easy to second guess oneself, which makes having colleagues and mentors so important. What I’m most proud of is that I feel I’m not a typical lawyer, My clients all tell me I have compassion, I take their case and treat it as if it were my family, and I represent their interests with my heart and soul. My passion for what I do is an integral part of my identity as a lawyer, part of why I’m successful, and part of my brand.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would ride the Harley Davidson, rent Vespas, go to the beach, and jet skiing. Although there are many great Cuban restaurants in Miami, when it came to Cuban food, I’d have my Husband make a killer Cuban meal because in my opinion, it doesn’t get better than what he prepares. We’d also go to some of my favorite restaurants, Italian, Argentinian, Asian, and Indian foods. Then on the weekend nights, we’d go dancing to some of the local places, maybe Cuba Ocho for a little Cuban flavor and live salsa music or a typical South Beach club like the Hyde at the SLS.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother and siblings are always supporting me in all I do. For many years I studied through undergrad, a master’s program, and law school, and worked odd jobs. When I finally graduated law school and pass the bar, all the years of sacrifices, hard work, and dedication paid off – and my mother, two sisters, and two brothers were there cheering me on.
