We had the good fortune of connecting with Marithe Leon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marithe, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I chose the art career to covey feelings and communicate, I found in painting the most appropriate way for mu personality, experimenting between techniques, shapes, trend and color, I have managed to find my own style in painting, arriving at a playful and mysterious style.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love my art, my work, and my process of creation, it is a magical moment for me, I love working with music, lose myself in this moment, the most difficult part is the confrontation with the blank canvas, one thing is what i have in my brain like idea and the other one is be real this idea, sometimes i working with a draft idea, and its fine, but some times (the most of this) i working without previous plans. But the difficult part is sale the art, promoting my work, looking for exhibitions, fine a buyer, all be myself, it’s a challenge constantly, i need to move so quickly, and alert for a new opportunity.
I have learned to be careful with alleged buyers.
I want my work in many places, that people when buying a piece of art making be me feel that they are taking something very special for my, something done with a lot of love.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my family and friends come to visit me, I take them to the beach (Pompano Beach FL), and we eat at Lucky Fish, get some ice cream, walk at piers, spend the day at the beach, take a bear in the brewery 26, going to Shopping, also spend time in the house, play board games, make barbecue, dancing and have fun if they come with children, something I prepare an art session for the kids, with creative craft and painting, or we takes small trips outside the city.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First of all to my family, who without it would not have been able to achieve my dreams, to my parents for always supporting me, my husband who has always believed in my talent, and my children who encourage me all the time, in second place to Broward Art Guild for giving me a place in local art and helping me launch my career.
