Meet Marius Fortelni | Founder and CEO, Forté Development

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marius Fortelni and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marius, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I come from a family with deep roots in real estate, particularly on my mother’s side, where development was part of daily life. Her philosophy shaped my worldview early on: “The greatest risk in life is not to take a risk.”
As we walked through my hometown of Vienna, my mother would point out buildings, coffee shops, even bicycles, all started by someone who took a risk. That idea stuck with me. Development is about calculated risk, optimism, and planning, but above all, problem-solving.
Over my career, I’ve developed and operated businesses across four continents, from West Africa to Saudi Arabia, Europe, and the U.S. The challenges have been vast, but one lesson remains true: most problems can be solved. That belief became a cornerstone of my work.

What should our readers know about your business?
At Forté Luxe, I’ve brought together all of my experience to create a waterfront enclave that truly exceeds expectations. With just 17 multi-level luxury residences on a private peninsula in Jupiter, Forté Luxe combines sleek architecture, panoramic views, and finishes like custom Italkraft cabinetry, 24-by-48-inch porcelain tile flooring, and optional dipping pools or generators. Every detail, from private elevators to two-car garages wired for electric chargers, reflects a commitment to thoughtful, high-end design.
I have developed many waterfront properties on different continents, yet I have never seen a property that is so unique and truly checks all the boxes. A peninsula surrounded by water so blue that it could only be matched by the best the Bahamas has to offer. Any unit at Forté Luxe is incomparable and can never be duplicated anywhere in Southeast Florida. The 13 boat slips resemble a private marina and are a boater’s dream come true, with easy access to the ocean.
The first time I walked the land, I was so excited and literally raced home to set all the wheels in motion that are needed to start the lengthy but well-worthy process of development. I imagined how one lives at this wonderful setting day in and day out. The way the peninsula is angled allows for magnificent sunrises, huge floor-to-ceiling windows, large terraces, and views of boats going by. With tropical landscaping, it will have an instant “I am on vacation” feeling and a tranquility that stays with you every moment spent at your new home.
What sets me apart is an uncompromising standard. I believe in giving more than expected, and I see that as the most sustainable path to long-term success. Facing obstacles, whether bureaucratic, financial, or market-driven, has taught me to lead with integrity, faith, and family. Those are the pillars of my resilience.
To witness what was only a delicate idea of what could be and then see it come to fruition with a market that rewards our vision with success is most gratifying. The great German philosopher Johann Wolfgang von Goethe stated that architecture is a symphony made out of stone. We believe that Forté Luxe is just such a symphony.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Palm Beach is wonderful to call home, and I believe it’s the best place to live in America. There’s a symphony of reasons why: the water, the yachts, the boats and the thriving business community. The Palm Beach Yacht Club perfectly captures this lifestyle, where you can see the water, watch the boats go by and connect with successful people.
I’ve been fortunate to live and work in 57 countries around the world, and many of my friends from New York have relocated here for the same reasons I did. The combination of comfort, quality and opportunity is unmatched. This is simply the best place to live and conduct business.
For dining, there are so many outstanding choices. I love 1000 North in Jupiter for its waterfront setting and exceptional cuisine. Beacon in Jupiter is another favorite, offering a sophisticated atmosphere with incredible views. Meat Market on Palm Beach Island delivers a classic steakhouse experience that never disappoints.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mother deserves the greatest credit in my story. In postwar Vienna, where living space was more scarce than food, she was known for her “two-envelope” approach. After a deal closed, she would pay the agreed amount in cash, but she’d also hand over a second envelope with a surprise bonus. Even when no “extra” work had been done, the gesture built trust and loyalty. People came back to her for decades.
That mindset has stayed with me. Her philosophy that “the greatest risk in life is not to take a risk” shaped everything I’ve done. She taught me that offering more than expected is the surest way to earn lasting success. Higher quality and better standards build a reputation faster than any ad campaign ever could.
