We had the good fortune of connecting with Markiian Lukyniuk and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Markiian, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Failure. Not being intimidated by failure helped me to cope with my ego and grow. Serving people with my craft. Mindset that helped me find meaning in what I do.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I play different genres and improvise on violin. My performance experience sets me apart from others. A number of people that listened to my performance said that they’ve never heard a violin sound like this before. Thousands of hours of practicing and hundreds of different performance opportunities shaped me as a musician. Every time the challenge was arising I reminded myself that I have a big purpose of serving people with my music and that’s what really matters. I believe that people should find the good side of themselves and use it to serve others.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take my friend on a week-long trip where we would drive to the rural areas in my home country and camp in the mountains for a couple of days. We would go to see a lake, mountains and beautiful nature scenery. I would like to show him non-touristy small towns where we would try authentic food and visit local attractions like horse riding, fishing and range shooting. And from there we would go to a larger city where the music festival is gonna take place. We would go to a vinyl store to listen to vintage records and to a local brewery to try different kinds of beer. And lastly we would attend the music festival with a group of friends.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give credit to my family and especially my brother who helped me out and was there for me during hard times. Also I think that all my music teachers and every musician I’ve played with deserve a shoutout. And last but not least, all people that ever listened and enjoyed my performance deserve a credit.
