We had the good fortune of connecting with Marleana Wells and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marleana, why did you pursue a creative career?
I don’t believe I pursued an artistic creative career at all. I honestly have to say that they pursued me. I never planned to do any of the things I have done creatively. I can say the fact that I was always creatively eclectic all my life was probably the key connection. Opportunities presented themselves. I just never went looking for them they kinda found me. I searched for knowledge, not opportunities. The knowledge gave me the skills. I just kept growing and filling in the blanks because I was clear that it was meant for me to follow this path. Taking the steps necessary for me to get to my next level.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a creative from the Midwest who has been seasoned by the whole country. I was born in Michigan, but raised all over in places such California, Georgia, Wisconsin, Illinois, Florida. I feel like these experiences gave me a view of life from many different people, places, lifestyles, and things. I incorporate that in every part of my life. In arts and entertainment I present things such as poetry, acting, and film production. A part of my story I would like to share is that I am a medical professional as well helping my community by helping provide healthcare to all for over 10 years all over the country, Pro Baseball Teams, College’s, local Doctor offices and clinics even during Covid-19.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in South Florida and when my family and friends comes I love to show them around. Things like the food culture, I absolutely love Prime 112 and Crabman 305, Jackson’s Soul Food, Coyo Taco and more I could go on forever about food. As far as entertainment, Wynwood, the beaches, I like adventures so Zip-line, rent scooters, jet skis.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
