We had the good fortune of connecting with Marta Sammarco Isern and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marta, what matters most to you?
What matters most to me is honesty. That means, being faithful to yourself, values/principles and goals. Try to find a purpose and meaning in life.
I know that nowadays it is hard, as you are influenced by many things, and you tend to compare others’ lives / achievements . It is important that you start to live the life that you want. You can get a bit lost in life but, I know it might sound cliché, you have to find and do what makes you happy. I think we believe that we are stuck in one path because we started it for so long, but we are not realizing that there are so many starts in life to find our right path.
With my food account, I want to share my style, create it day by day, and transmit my passion for food and gastronomy. I want to be myself and just make people like my content, and who knows, in the future I might be able to dedicate myself to it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Surprisingly, I studied law and then I did a master’s degree in law too. I worked hard in several law firms and then in a multinational company. Day by day I realize I needed a change in my life in order to feel fulfilled and complete. I know that something was missing. So I decided to leave Spain, and go to Canada, alone, without knowing anything, and start from 0. Although I had always thought about going abroad, in my head it was more like a dream, than a thing to do. I had the courage to do it, and from there I saw that I was available to do anything, to love myself and professionally enough to grace with other fields like social media/marketing. Although I am still connected to the legal world, going abroad gave me a more global vision and I was able to practice all the social media skills for my food account.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I have been living almost 2 years in Toronto. My heart I think it belongs there right now. It’s a very nice city to live, although winters are very hard. I think that people coming all around the world, and spring/summer are the best seasons of the year, job opportunities are good to. Basically, I would just start the day in Harbour Front just chilling in the Lake Ontario with the CN views and then just take some food and coffee and go walking through up to Yonge street and then go to Kensington Market grab nice food. Chill around the China Town go up until Rosedale, which there are amazing parks to see the sunset and then for the night go back to Yorkdale to have a very nice dinner and drinks, and of course then party in Queen/king street haha

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The fact that I am able to have this food account and have collaborations so soon is thanks to the encouragement that those around me has given me. At the end they see in me how much I like it, and maybe the potential that I can have, in the moments that I think that I will never get there, suddenly they encourage me and I see that I start to have collaborations in other countries, that they start to recognize me, to comment on me. So, thanks to my friends and family, they have made me believe in myself to be able to go ahead with this mini project.
