Hi Mary Haley and Taylor Younts, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factors behind the success of Surcie have been relationship building, patience and staying true to ourselves and our brand. By creating relationships with clients, vendors and other small businesses we have been able to organically grow and create repeat customers. Our aesthetic is consistent and as we create new products our brand image stays the same. Clients have the opportunity to work with us through many important stages; weddings, growing families and all important milestones of life and we strive to create solid relationships and timeless products. Patience has also become an important factor as we have had to realize that success does not happen overnight and we must be patient while growing a business.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Starting our business was a huge step and we are so thankful we took it! Starting something new is always scary but it worth every bit of nervousness.

This year we are most exciting about our new space. We have been wanting to have a small retail section in our studio for a while now and at the end of 2021 it came true! It has been so much fun creating our little store and finding all of the best items to fill it with.

While each new step has come with it’s challenges, we have had so many wonderful people to lean on and give us advice!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We live in Raleigh, North Carolina and it is growing by the day! There are tons of Breweries and rooftop bars coming to our area. We love supporting local businesses and would bring our friends to the best spots!

First we would have brunch at Hummingbird and then head over to Standard for a beer or Ranch Water! The outdoor seating is always a plus especially when the sun is out! For dinner our go to spots are Jolie, Tazza, and Barcelona Wine Bar. For desert you can’t forget Two Roosters ice cream!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would not be where we are today without the support of our friends and family, specifically our mother. She has taught us so much and guided us on our journey every step of the way. We also would not be here without our clients and customers. The relationships that we have built with each and every one of them has been influential to our growth and as we continue to grow, we continue to make many more.
