Meet Maryna Savchenko | DJ | Legal Professional | AI Specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Maryna Savchenko and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Maryna, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Over the years, I’ve started several businesses in different industries, and each time the motivation has come from a deep desire to create something meaningful and valuable for people. I’ve always been driven by the idea of offering a high-quality, honest service — something unique that stands out among thousands of competitors. For me, launching a business is not only about entrepreneurship, but also about personal and professional growth. It’s a way to challenge myself, learn, evolve, and bring something original into the world that reflects my values of integrity, creativity, and fair pricing.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is called SMARTINLAW — it lives at the intersection of law, technology, and creativity. We help professionals and small businesses streamline their work through AI automation. It all started with internal solutions I created for the law firm where I currently work. I built AI agents to handle routine legal tasks — and quickly realized how transformative this could be for the entire industry. Today, we develop customized AI tools to help people save time, make better decisions, and focus on what really matters in their business.
What sets SMARTINLAW apart is that it’s not just tech for the sake of tech. It’s about creating smart, human-centered solutions, backed by real legal and business experience. As someone with over a decade in law, I understand the pressure, the pace, and the responsibility. My goal is to make innovation feel accessible and practical, even in traditionally conservative fields like law.
But my journey here wasn’t easy — and it wasn’t straightforward. My first business was a private legal practice in Ukraine. Then I launched a travel agency, which was disrupted by the war. I moved to Berlin, kept running my legal business online, and even started something new: I became a DJ. Music became both a business and a healing space. My DJ name, INLAW, comes from my lifelong connection to the legal world — even when I’m behind the decks, the law is part of my identity.
Eventually, I moved to the U.S. after winning the Green Card lottery. I had to start over — again. I joined an American law firm, adapted to a new legal system, and at the same time, began building SMARTINLAW.
If there’s one lesson I’ve learned, it’s that reinvention is not failure — it’s growth. Every chapter taught me something: how to be resilient, how to adapt, how to trust my vision even when the path isn’t clear.
What I want the world to know is that I’m not just building a business — I’m building a bridge between tradition and innovation, between the mind and the heart. My story is about transformation, about saying yes to change, and about creating something meaningful — not just for myself, but for others who are also ready to evolve.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I absolutely love Miami — it was love at first sight. When I won the Green Card lottery, I didn’t even hesitate — I flew straight to Miami. And now, whenever my friends visit, I make it my mission to help them fall in love with this city too.
Here’s how I’d plan the perfect 7-day Miami experience:
Monday — South Beach & Ocean Drive
We’d kick things off with a classic beach day. The most stunning stretch is from South Pointe to 5th Street — powdery sand, crystal-clear water, and iconic lifeguard towers. After sun and sea, we’d stroll down Ocean Drive, have dinner at one of the hotel restaurants, and visit the legendary Versace Mansion.
—
Tuesday — Sunset Walks & Hotel Hopping
An evening walk through the bars at oceanfront hotels is pure Miami magic. We’d explore W Hotel, 1 Hotel, and end at Faena, admiring art, design, and ambiance. This night feels like stepping into a cinematic dream.
—
Wednesday — Coconut Grove & Coral Gables
We’d slow things down with a peaceful day. Coconut Grove offers a charming, bohemian vibe with waterfront views, while Coral Gables impresses with beautiful architecture and cozy restaurants. It’s the perfect mix of nature and culture.
—
Thursday — Wynwood Art & Astra Rooftop DJ Night
Wynwood is alive with street art, creative shops, and indie cafés. At night, I DJ at Astra Miami from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. — a Mediterranean rooftop spot with stunning views of Downtown and Wynwood, great food, and of course, great music (from me!).
—
Friday — Brickell Rooftop to Downtown Vinyl Bar
Evening begins in Brickell at the lush rooftop Sugar, perfect for cocktails with skyline views. Then we head to Miami Sound Bar in Downtown, where DJs spin vinyl all night. If we’re still dancing — Club Space is the ultimate stop for deep, unforgettable electronic sets.
—
💃 Saturday — Salsa Night in Little Havana
We’d dive into the Latin heart of the city at Ball & Chain in Little Havana — live music, salsa dancing, and authentic Cuban flavors. It’s electric, vibrant, and full of soul.
—
Sunday — Joia Beach & Sunset Vibes
To end the week, we’d spend the day at Joia Beach — part beach club, part hidden gem. It’s where I often gather with friends, and sometimes we host our own parties. Sunset by the water with music and community? That’s the Miami way.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely — I wouldn’t be where I am without the love, wisdom, and energy of others. I’m endlessly grateful to my mom — her strength and faith in me gave me wings. To Alla, my incredible mentor and dear friend in law, who walked beside me through six intense and beautiful years of growth. To Anna Kasyan, the Ukrainian DJ who opened the door to a whole new world for me in Berlin. And to the amazing female DJs in Miami who welcomed me like a sister.
Also, a huge part of my inner journey has always been through books — I’ve been reading since I was a child, and still do every day. Business, psychology, personal growth — these books helped me understand people, shape my mindset, and stay brave, even in uncertainty.
I carry a little piece of each of these people and stories with me, wherever I go.
