We had the good fortune of connecting with Maxim Laroche and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maxim, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I had the opportunity to grow up around businessmen and other entrepreneurs during much of my life in Haiti, so being an entrepreneur, job creation, and owning my own time have always been a major motivator. My uncle always told me: “You won’t ever get rich working for other people, you’ll make them rich with the same effort that you could’ve done for yourself….question is are you willing to risk it on yourself instead of the security of a paycheck?” When I immigrated to the United States a little over 3 years ago, the first thing I did was create an LLC for my photography business but that is more of a passion project / labor of love vs a money generating business. For a professional career I was given the opportunity to be a financial advisor at Northwestern Mutual in Los Angeles, but when covid hit, it became impossible to network and not having a network (freshly immigrated) made it difficult to continue that line of work. **It supercharged my financial literacy which is a critical component to success in business.

I applied to over 300+ different positions over the next couple of months only to later learn from a recruiter friend that I would most likely never be hearing back because all my work experience was from Haiti and that my resume read like an immigrants resume and there was so much other skilled labor looking at that time as well….. based off that I knew I had some tough decisions to make since I am the breadwinner, freshly immigrated, and my wife, daughter, and then unborn son depended on my ability to provide.

After doing some research, through a couple of blogs I found online that some people were making above regular wages doing doordash and ubereats….so I figured why not and gave it a try. I refined and gamified a system and doing multi-app (UberEats, Doordash, and Grubhub) at the same time I carved out a way to make avg 30+/hr : 10-12hr/days: 50wks/yr consistently….from there, we lived well below our means and saved a ton and also took big risks…..I had some trusted friends in the crypto markets and they advised that I take a look at some of this. After less that thorough research, frankly… I as the young kids say..aped into crypto…took a gamble on Dogecoin, ShibaInu, and Ethereum in early January of 2021….This allowed me to generate some additional capital in addition to the deliveries which I knew would either be used for a down payment on a house or another move…..So the thought process behind the process isn’t so much important as trusting the process is what a very close mentor to me would say.
In my personal opinion, opportunity always knocks but do we make the consistent choices to keep us ready for when it does. The ultimate goal for me is to be able to own all my time so the choices I make today need to affect that ability to come true in the future.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If some friends came for the weekend, Friday, first thing, we’d stop by LiftOff and grab a generous assorted supply of Delta 8 THC & Delta 9 THC gummies, maybe some KIK Kalibloom disposable pens and some delta 8 pre-rolls… being well stocked, second stop would be the beach for a relaxing vegetative day. That night I might suggest a KAPOW noodles in Mizner followed by some bowling next door. On Saturday, we might take an excursion up to Indian Springs or one of the many clear river water systems north of Boca Raton. Again here, we would be thoroughly enjoying our delta 8 gummies and vapes. That night after we return might just be a restaurant night at one of the many great Italian restaurants in Boca Raton. Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza or Mister O1 Pizza are top of mind. Then followed by a dessert at Sloans ice cream in Mizner Park.
On Sunday, we would do a chill day and hit GUMBO LIMBO Park and then maybe Red Reef Park just off Palmetto Park. Sunday night we could hit the Ipic for dinner and a movie fancy style.
Monday its back to the airport for rest from the supposed rest lol
