We had the good fortune of connecting with Meesh Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Meesh, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“I’ve learned that I still have a lot to learn” – Maya Angelou This quote just encompasses what it is like to live. I went on a college tour once and a professor spoke about how she was nearly in tears explaining to her husband one night how there is still so much she doesn’t know, that’s how passionate she was about learning! It sounds crazy right, but I often feel this way a lot as I get older. Especially with Orgaia, I am still learning and growing a business from scratch so the process is trial and error. When I reflect on where I began it is crazy how much I’ve improved and it makes me wonder about the possibilities for Orgaia and the constant learning I’ll be enriched with on a day to day basis. It’s very fulfilling.

What should our readers know about your business?
Orgaia integrates my anthropological interest with my passion for holistic healing/herbal medicine. It is funny how our purpose and reasoning can change as our business progresses and time evolves our values. At first this was a plant-based skincare company birthed out of my frustration with my own skin problems and an increasing need to understand the physiology of skin better to achieve healthy skin long term. Through formulating I have aligned with what I truly love, healing and educating. Realizing Orgaia has a duty to serve our community, my entire focus shifted. This is what prompted progressive changes in my business. Now I curate a lot of informational content because I noticed (which is why it’s good to check your engagements, social media activity reports, etc.) the demographic Orgaia caters to sometimes simply just do not know what they should be using, the root cause of their skin ailments and so on! I even created a blog on Orgaia’s website with topics that provide solutions to my customer’s concerns. I want my customers to feel/look great from the inside out and to know Orgaia Beauty is a resource for healing on all levels. My business has caused me to explore the nonsecular parts of my life, my internal self so then I could give my best self to Orgaia and be transparent and helpful with Gaia Glowers. That is my brand, pure healing through skincare.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Monday: – South Beach, Skating, Drinks
Well, me and my best friend love to have a good time and are foodies so definitely grabbing tacos from ‘Bodega’ on South Beach the first day she lands! Then we’ll rent skates on Collins and rollerblade down South beach, stop by Wet Willie’s for some good drank (maybe with a double shot, lol). Later crashing at the ‘Pillars’ boutique hotel in Ft. Lauderdale Beach. With a bar and intimate, quiet setting by the water it is the perfect vibe.

Tuesday:
– Just Spoons, Spa Massage
The next morning we’ll eat at ‘Just Spoons’ because their breakfast is so bomb, it doesn’t make sense! Of course we’re eating the sweet potato pie French toast and those GRITS. Tuesday is a spa day and we’ll be spending the entirety of the day getting pampered at the Mondrian.

Wednesday:
– Bayside, Lil Greenhouse Grill, El Tucan
If you’re from Miami, you have lost count of how many times you’ve been to Bayside. Bayside will be the first stop of the day, we’ll eat at hooters and get drinks from Fat Tuesday!! Ride electrical scooters around the American Airlines Arena and sit by the water to relax and take a boat ride. Of course since we’re downtown we’re stopping by ‘Lil Greenhouse Grill’ in Overtown for some eats, a must for good soul food! Later on is lady’s night (passionata) at El Tucan in Brickell. The bao bun sliders are 5 stars but the burlesque entertainment steals the show, really a top tier dining experience.

Thursday:
– Kreative Kravings, Bird Bowl
Stopping by Kreative Kravings for a glazed turkey leg stuffed with creamy macaroni and cheese is necessary. Then go drunk bowling and run down the arcade at Bird Bowl. It’s upgraded with a bar and lounge area so now it is really a nice chill spot to have good time with your peoples.

Friday:
– Jackson’s Soulfood
For the breakfast before she leaves we are definitely going to Jackson’s Soul Food for them golden, fluffy pancakes with crispy bacon, the family’s hospitable atmosphere and the restaurants rich history.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Of course I would have to honor my mother. She is my guider, adviser, manager and confidant. My mother is my inspiration, she is a licensed esthetician and helped me with research for Orgaia Beauty. Her strength and discipline is what I look to when I need to have the motivation to be consistent and actively work towards what I desire. My entire family is actually very supportive and are always promoting my business through different platforms. I am grateful to have a community that believes in me and places value on my craft. I am very thankful for them on this journey.
