Hi Meganthemogul, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Potluckcrew is a social cannabis club designed to empower, entertain and educate on the purpose of cannabis and hemp. Potluckcrew started after attending multiple events in the cannabis industry and realizing there were no spaces for Black people and specifically women in the industry to be themselves. Potluckcrew is a combination of what it means to highlight cannabis culture positively, to foster education and healthy consumption. Over the past few years, we have grown our company, produced merchandise and events that promote small businesses across the country.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Potluckcrew is the first social club in America dedicated to women and black empowerment FIRST. In such a unique business because we operate in different sectors including business development, entertainment, and education. We find it important to capture as many consumers as possible with this model. Cannabis users come in all forms from novice to expert from medicinal users to hype-beast. We offer something for everyone.

One of the first challenges and continued challenges of being the only brand in this space is that there are no models set for exactly what to do or how to operate within the space. We overcome this challenge by doing what our members deem important and looking for problems to solve in the industry. We want people to know that anything is POSSIBLE in the industry and Black people and WOMEN deserve a place in cannabis.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Potluckcrew operates in many cities across America. If I Had to pick a city it would be NYC.

Anytime anyone comes to NYC to visit the first place I take them for fun and community is Co-exist gaming! For dinner I would take them to Basquiat’s Bottle in Bedstuy or Gold Room Bk . If there was any chance they were looking for some cool clothes we would go straight to Granru Market for the a nightcap we would go to a Pursuit Jam session to catch live music.
