We had the good fortune of connecting with Meshach Berry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Meshach, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve always found myself to be a creative person. I know to some that may come off as such a cliched response, but that’s the god honest truth. Since a child in the 3rd grade, I’ve always expressed a creative side to my peers; whether that was through music, art or even creative thinking when it came to science. I have to find some way to create. I’ve never stopped thinking from an artistic standpoint, and so because of this I thought, why not pursue a career in it?

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

I am a menswear blogger and personal stylist. I publish my own written articles bi-weekly on my website, I upload YouTube videos bi-weekly on, well, YouTube, and I offer one on one style consultations to clients in need. What sets me apart is my ability to dive deep into the 3 main cores of fashion; dapper wear, casual wear, and streetwear. I’d be able to pick out the perfect sized lapel for the someone’s wedding, while also being able to style a pair of Nike Air Penny’s in a multitude of ways for a video shoot. Most menswear blogs that I’ve seen can’t really stretch their knowledge to such a degree.

What makes me so proud is the feedback that I get from anyone who engages with what I do. This can be clients, readers or viewers. To hear someone say that my efforts brought positive value to their lives is a truly remarkable feeling. I know what clothing did and continues to do for my confidence, and so to bring that to others is one of the best feelings in the world.

Consistency is what got me to where I am today. I’m not exactly where I want to be just yet, but it’s a hell of a lot better than where I was in the beginning. What allowed me to stay consistent is the simple fact that I just flat out have fun when it comes to my work. I have a blast whenever I get to write, shoot, or style. That should always be the number one goal if someone wants to stay driven. Make sure that you’re having fun. Once the enjoyment fades away, so will the output. As I stated before, I’m not quite where I want to be yet, but it’s a huge leap from where I started. It hasn’t been easy at all so far.

The biggest challenge will always be motivation. I still get down on myself to this day. Doubt still creeps in. I think that will be the case for the foreseeable future. I think that’s normal for anyone in the early stages of pursuing their dreams. One just has to stick to the plan no matter what happens.

The lessons that I would want someone to take away from what I’ve experienced so far is to try and do as much on your own as possible, and to never stop having fun. Down the road you will thank yourself immensely for doing this. The former can make for more work being needed, but it’ll be worth it.

What the world needs to know about Piece Of The Puzzle is that I will make you dress better. If you follow my guidance; whether it’s through my site, YouTube or in person, you will be the best dressed person in the room. Whether it’s a wedding, a festival or a music video shoot, I’m your guy.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If they happen to visit during basketball season, then my first option would be to take in a Miami Heat game down at the arena. They’d get a front row seat to experiencing the best basketball team in the country, and they’d get to watch me turn into an absolute maniac. While staying true to what I do, Sawgrass Mall would also be a must on the list. It’s my favorite shopping center ever. We’d definitely have to eat at Taula Mediterranean in Wynwood, brunch at Tap 42 or grab sushi at Sushi Kong. For a nice cocktail experience, I’m thinking Happy Hour at Chotto Matte. It’s one of the most unique lounging venues that I’ve been to and the atmosphere is just right. Bodega offers massive bang for buck with their happy hour as well. Bayfront Park is always a nice and relaxing getaway, especially after dark around 11pm. These are the things that immediately come to mind.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
If anyone deserves credit, then it would have to be my tight knit circle of friends. You know who you are and if you think that I’m talking about you then I am. If it wasn’t for them consistently planting the bug in my ear to do something with fashion and style, then who knows if I would’ve pursued it or not? So to my closest friends, thank you all.
