We had the good fortune of connecting with Michele Rosenthal and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michele, what do you attribute your success to?
Hands down, the most important factors in my success are absolute authenticity and my passionate mission to help other trauma survivors heal faster than I did.
As a survivor who lost almost 30 years to PTSD, I launched my business after I finally achieved 100% recovery — and realized that with the right information, knowledge and support I could have probably healed three decades earlier.
At that moment I decided to dedicate the rest of my career to sharing my story, insights and knowledge to help survivors around the world find the information, resources, and practitioners who might guide them on their quest to freedom.
One award-winning PTSD blog, three published books, and one podcast with more than 100 expert interviews later the success of my brand has always been directly related to the core elements of my unwavering focus on being transparent combined with my belief that every survivor can find a way to feel better.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Ever since I launched my quest to help other survivors heal faster than I did (back in 2009) I work unceasingly in a few prioritized areas.
First, every day I take action to educate the public about what is trauma. (You’d be surprised how many people don’t know the basic definition.)
Second, I collaborate with respected colleagues to leverage the power of community. No one heals in isolation; we heal in community. So, building a connected global community in the healing space can be an important resource for survivors worldwide.
Third, I am always continuing to study and learn the ever-evolving findings in the fields of neuroscience, psychology, traumatology, personal development, spirituality and other sectors that support how to heal trauma.
Fourth, I deepen and expand my knowledge with top trainings and trainers in the fields of professional coaching, hypnosis and neuro-linguistic programming so that my efficacy with clients continues to expand.
Today, I’m a Certified Professional Coach, Board Certified Trauma and PTSD Hypnotist, and Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming — all processes that allow me to help clients activate the conscious, unconscious and neurological aspects of the brain to find their personal path to freedom.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Definitely I’d hit Bayfront for some live outdoor music and good food! Plus, the Mandarin Hotel for a little pampering, South Beach for the day and/or nighttime scene, and Bongos for some Latin dancing.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Oh, YES! No one succeeds alone…. the list is long. My success occurred because of:
— enormous love and support from my parents and brother (thanks Eileen, Gary and Bret!)
— partnership and adventure with a man who truly love me (how’d I get so lucky, John?!)
— publishers who saw the value of my novel approach to healing (gratitude to Norton, Conari Press and Mango Publishing Group)
— all of the survivors worldwide who have followed me, built community or reached out to connect in solidarity
— all of the professional colleagues who have partnered with me to make a difference in the world
— all of my clients from around the world who have so bravely dived into the recovery process
