Meet Michelle Fazaeli: Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Fazaeli and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michelle, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
I grew up in the Midwest. Wauwatosa. Wisconsin which is a pretty small town and after traveling around a bit and being fortunate to experience living in Cancun Mexico as well as New York City and south Florida I can honestly say there is a difference in people and work ethics. I grew up watching my father work two and three jobs at times to make ends meet and having to get my first job at 16 years old. I’ve always worked and I too at times had to work two and three jobs.. I think it’s important to know where you came from and appreciate the value of a dollar at a young age. I think kids today have it a bit easy. I also think it’s important to stay true to who you are and he consistent! Nothing is easy but if you work hard and do the right thing then you can sleep at night knowing you’re on the right path in life. .
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a fairly new artist and started by accident actually. Somehow my passion for it drove me to explore how to do better and experiment. I stayed true to my style and have really evolved. It’s not easy putting yourself out there as art is so personal and everyone is a critic. It took me awhile to feel confident enough to show my work in public venues and shows.. it’s the most amazing feeling to see people love your work’ My style is pretty edgy and unique. I like to call it whimsical and they are statement pieces for sure.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I really am a home body. A good time for me is having family and friends over for dinner. I love to cook so feeding people is my thing. I love going out with my husband and few good friends but we always end up at the lobster bar on Las Olas. Great atmosphere and service. I’m big on service. I also love the Boathouse cuz I feel like I’m on vacation and noodles panini for great Italian food. All of these places are walking distance from apartment which makes it even better!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Honestly, my husband Davar is my biggest cheerleader. When we met 22 years ago I was a totally different person.. I still have my moments but he taught me so much in life. like how to fail and get back up again.
