Meet Michelle & Judith Dupin: Esthetician’s and Beauty Salon Owners

We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle & Judith Dupin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michelle & Judith, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important lesson our business has taught us is to believe in yourself. We are capable of accomplishing anything we put our minds too. Trying something new can be overwhelming and scary. Our minds instantly brought up questions like “what if it goes wrong or what if we fail?” We envisioned our dream business and diligently worked towards making it a reality. Have courage, do research, and show up as the version of you that has a successful business. Our business has grown so much because we always give our best work and never give up even when faced with new challenging tasks.
What should our readers know about your business? How did you get to where you are today business wise. Was it easy? If not how did you overcome the challenges?
We started out just doing eyelash extensions. We received invaluable advice from marketing tips to growing our clientele and applied it to our business. We learned, practiced, and mastered our craft. Although our clients have one goal in mind, to enhance their features, every client is different. We dedicate time to listen to and understand each clients unique desires which is also what sets us apart from others. What sets you apart from others? We provide our clients with a one-on-one personalized experience. We dedicate time to fully focusing on helping each client achieve their desired beauty and skincare results. Since each client is in a separate room, they have the freedom to relax, take a nap, or engage in conversation. The privacy and attention to detail allows our sessions to become intimate and not only will they leave with enhanced features, and/or glowing skin they internally feel better after expressing what’s been on their mind. Although few for us, running a small business can come with challenges. We had to learn how to do everything. Accounting, marketing, graphic design, and contract negotiations were areas we had to do research on in order to successfully operate our business. Our biggest challenge was used as an opportunity to grow. In March 2020, non essential businesses including salons had to shutdown due to the governors orders. Initially, it was frightening. We did not know how long we would have to remain closed. However, we used that time to create and launch our online skincare shop. We learned during downtime to work on new tasks and go over and enhance other things that were already in place. That allowed us to be ready once things reopened thankfully 2 months later.
What are you most proud of or excited about?
Our growth. We now offer many other amazing services including; eyelash extensions trainings, skincare services such as facials, ultra hydrating microdermabrasion, and chemical peels. We have an online shop for our skincare and eyelash aftercare products We also offer makeup application, eyebrow microblading, microshading, lamination, wax and tint. We also have an extremely talented nail technician whose creativity is unmatched.
Lessons learned along the way?
Face your fears. Try new techniques and services. Stay current the beauty industry always has new services to try and offer. Master the basics but also offer new, services. Know your worth, take pride in your work, value your time and work smart.
What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
