We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Morris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
In 2017 I disciplined myself in waking up each morning without looking at my phone and committing myself to a 15-30 minute meditation every day along with going to the gym working on my mental and physical states of being. I watched my mind movie (similar to a vision board but created online and with music) twice a day. I wrote in my gratitude journal every night and practiced affirmations to train my mind and reprogram my body. I did this everyday for 6 months straight only missing a few days here and there.

I am the owner of Bombay Room Yoga located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I am a yoga teacher and mind mastery coach. My story is one of manifestation. It has all been attracted by me. I had been working in the corporate world most of my life. I was at my last job for 10 years and had been working two jobs at that time. I mostly always did. I never liked what I did, it was just a job. I couldn’t believe that I would come to this earth to sit in a cubicle, work for someone, collect a pay check, retire and die. I always felt there was more out there. I didn’t know what that was, I just knew I didn’t want to work like this for the rest of my life. I had learned about the law of attraction through the book, The Secret. At that time, I just wanted to be a house wife. My wish came true, and I met my ex-husband and became just that, a house wife. I was so happy to no longer be in the corporate world! It was within this time that I started to explore the idea of becoming a yoga teacher as I had the opportunity to re-invent myself. I did just that, but then my marriage was also over and I had to start life all over once again and this time with my family in Central Florida. Originally from Colorado, we moved to South Florida and that became home. I had moved to Georgia through the marriage and from there to Central Florida. I was not excited to leave South Florida to begin with and now in Central Florida, I just wanted to get back to South Florida. I started teaching yoga at a few of the LA Fitness in Central Florida until I could teach at a couple of the yoga studios there. Once again, all the while when I had started to really get serious about transforming my life and creating my life, that was when I started with getting back to my practices of mediation and manifestation. Not only did the yoga studio opportunity come up for me but so did the money to purchase the studio. The funds had been in a trust that my grandfather had set aside for the grandchildren to go to college with. I was not a school person, and always thought how I would much rather have my own business. (not knowing what that would be but what I would prefer). My aunt who was the power of attorney over the trust decided to dissolve the trust and the money from the partnership would be distributed. Just in time for me to purchase the business. The sale of the business was so easy and effortless and it was all in perfect alignment that there was no question this was meant for me and arranged for me and by me. There is so much more to this story. There are many other manifestations after the studio even, its quiet incredible. My passion and mission is to help people to remember their power, who they are and how to tap into the power within to create the life of their dreams. I have helped others start their own businesses, helped people with getting their dream jobs, helped people out of depression and anxiety. I help teach the laws, principles, and rules of life by mastering the mind, we can master anything.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It is paradise here. There are so many options to explore. Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, love Arubas. Beach Place, Las Olas, and even my own street – 33rd Street off of Galt Ocean Mile. Right here, Twice Removed, Fishtales, 33rd St Wine Bar, Bocampers, the Water Taxi, Shooters, Pane’ Dolce. I teach yoga at the Wharf off of Las Olas and also have taken people there for a night out too. One of my ultimate favorite places is the Ritz Carlton. I have done many coaching sessions while having breakfast right there at the Ritz with an incredible view of the beach and ocean. – A dream come true. I love the Pelican and the Sandbar, a mile away from me. Blue Martini, Sunday is reggae night with Visions Band and that is my favorite too.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mentors, Chris Sabido and Liz Carey. Owners of the former Awaken Life School of Yoga. I attended my 300hr yoga teacher training with Liz and Chris in 2015 in Costa Rica. This training completely changed my life. It was so rich and impactful teaching us the heart of yoga and living it every day creating real transformation within. After this life transformative teacher training program I enrolled myself into a life coaching program and within that program it was suggested to find a mentor. Chris had created a post on Facebook about coaching services. I thought how perfect! If I could have anyone as my coach, he would be the one. I hired Chris and through our coaching and after my disciplinary actions of doing the work on myself the greatest opportunity came forth. A yoga studio in Fort Lauderdale was being sold and my friend who taught there secretly let me know the owner was selling. I lived in Central Florida and for 4 years had been putting my efforts into moving back to South Florida and Fort Lauderdale particularly. When this happened, it was a dream come true. I could have never gone through the process of the purchase of the business and everything involved without the support and mentorship of Chris. (along with the life coaching he also offered) Later, I also mentored with his wife, Liz after settling into my new space. Through my coaching with Liz, I was able to uncover deep routed sub-conscious habits and behaviors of myself that I would breakthrough and now be in the position to help others on deeper levels myself. Chris and Liz have made a huge impact on my life and with their support and mentorship I am where I am and I am forever grateful! In addition, no doubt am I also grateful for the support of my family that always believes in me.
