Meet Michelle & Pete Fuentes | Wedding Photographer & Videographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle & Pete Fuentes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle & Pete, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
When we first started dating, we traveled a lot. So we decided to start a travel blog together to document our travels. Pete got really into photography and videography at this time and started making videos for our blog and taking photos of me (Michelle) all around the world. After we got married, one of our friends asked Pete if he could capture their engagement shoot. He had never done anything like this before so he brought me along and handed me a camera as well. We had so much capturing this engagement shoot together and working with another couple. A few days later we decided to turn this into a business and primarily work with couples. We captured a lot of engagement shoots in the beginning which led to us capturing our couple’s wedding days. We offered both photography and videography since the beginning because we loved having both photos & videos to look back at our own wedding day. Now, almost 6 years later, we have captured over 100 wedding days together and have met so many amazing couples and watched their love and families grow as ours has grown. We’re still loving every second!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Something that sets us apart from others is that we are a couple who owns this business together and captures every single wedding day together. We are able to work with each other really effortlessly capturing both photography and videography on a wedding day at the same time. Because we are married and had our own wedding day, we love working with other couples during their engagement and throughout their wedding day. We’re always here to offer tips and insight not only on photography & videography but also about any questions our couples have about their wedding day. It wasn’t easy to get to where we are today. We have had to work really hard and are always learning and growing and trying to improve not only our art but our client processes and our business strategies. It’s all been worth it though because we absolutely love what we do. The most rewarding aspects of life take work and sacrifice. That’s what makes them so rewarding!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would take them to the best sushi place – Katana. We used to live walking distance from Katana and fell in love with it. We would also take them to see Vizcaya. It is stunning and always worth a visit. We would also probably take them to a beach to hang out, enjoy the beautiful water, and grill. It’s such a great way to spend the day and one of our favorite beaches is Crandon Park. It’s always more quiet and so beautiful.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Our families definitely deserve a shoutout. They have always been so supportive of our business and our goals in life. They cheer us on throughout all of our successes and have always been there to help us when we need it.
