We had the good fortune of connecting with Mindy Kim and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mindy, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Success leaves clues. My approach to risk has always been to look at the most successful people in the world and copy their approach exactly on any given thing. If I can do that, the road to success is virtually guaranteed. If there’s some reason I can’t copy a successful roadmap completely, then I don’t take the risk in the first place. Success is not a gamble, it is a calculation and risk is a possibility but unimportant in the face of clear evidence a win is likely.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m most proud of the level of service that we offer. Many of my clients I have traveled all over the world and it’s important to me that the service they received from me is not only the best in Miami, but the best in the world. I remember when I decided to leave the company I was in esthetician for after a decade of service with them. I remember nights where I couldn’t sleep, where my mind was racing with thoughts of what needed to happen in order for me to run a business myself. I knew if things we’re going to work out, I had to give it my all. I had to be the best I could be in every way. I would have to learn and stretch myself beyond what I was used to. The most important thought I had as I was starting out was, “if I make sure my clients get the best service of their life, they’ll come back and my business will grow.” I told myself that every morning and every night. I did everything I could think of to get my business in front of people. I listed my service on Groupon and GILT and offered sales to people I knew. I did everything I possibly could to have business coming through my door and I made sure that every single person was blown away by the service.

That is a lesson I’ve always remembered. No matter how big your business gets, the only measure that matters is that your clients love you. If you have that, you’re set.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have few mentors who help me alone the way and I read lot of books that help me in many ways such as rich dad poor dad, total recall, millionaire’s mind, the 7 habits of highly effective people. I like to listen Gary Vee and my friend Caleb who owns beauty business like me.
