Meet Monica Arroyo | Clinical Director & Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Monica Arroyo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Monica, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I launched the Family Therapy Group of Weston driven by a deep desire to support families, couples, and teens in our community. Recognizing the pressing need for mental health services, I envisioned a sanctuary where all family members could find solace and healing.
What should our readers know about your business?
At the Family Therapy Group of Weston, we’re more than just a counseling center. We’re a beacon of hope for teens, children, parents, couples, and families facing various challenges. Our team of specialized therapists is dedicated to addressing anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, and loss. We’re deeply committed to guiding our clients on their path to healing and growth, serving communities in Weston, Davie, Pembroke Pines, Miramar, and Parkland.
Our carefully curated team consists of compassionate therapists selected not only for their expertise but also for their empathy and understanding. We believe that emotional connection is fundamental to effective therapy, fostering genuine change and nurturing families through their journey of transformation.
Despite the obstacles we’ve faced, including the unforeseen hurdles of the pandemic, we’ve persevered and grown. Since our doors opened in May 2020, we’ve expanded to 16 therapists across two locations. Through adaptability and resilience, we’ve established ourselves as a trusted resource for families in need.
In my twenty years of experience in mental health counseling, I’ve learned the importance of flexibility and resilience, both personally and professionally. Our journey has been marked by challenges, but also by unwavering dedication to our community. I’m immensely proud to be recognized as a safe place for members of our community.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Weston, Florida, boasts a wealth of attractions, perfect for families and friends alike. From savoring empanadas at Graziano’s to indulging in pastries at Bonjour Bakery, there’s no shortage of culinary delights. We would have breakfast at Little Hen and enjoy some Peruvian cuisine at Embarcadero 41. They could do some shopping at the nearby Sawgrass Mall and enjoy some drinks and music at Baires, an Argentinian restaurant. On the weekend, they would go to the beach to spend some time at Pompano Pier and for those who need a little more action, I would make sure that they get some time in Coconut Grove in Miami.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My journey wouldn’t be possible without the unwavering support of my husband and the invaluable guidance of Maureen Werbach from the Group Practice Exchange and Kasey Compton from Mindsight Partners. Their mentorship and insight have been instrumental in shaping our thriving business and nurturing our culture of excellence and compassion.
